Download to full viewHooooo nelly! That took a long while to finish! I'd say 20+ hours of touching up here and there. I have a hard time focussing on bigger pieces like this, but I'm glad to finally have it done! I'm very proud of how this turned out because it's more of a digital painting than ANYTHING I've ever done before!

It's a great image, but Spike is way to big a presence in that story (so far) to be kicked aside in favor of Princess Celestia and the CMC. Unless the author has given you inside information, and all four are about to be given massive roles. But even if that's the case, Spike is still a major character, and to be completely open, the fact that he is always the one chosen to be left out frequently gets on my nerves and puts me in a foul mood, which just makes otherwise good art and fiction hard to appreciate.
Other than that confusing omission, nice work!

Well we're only 2 chapters in, but I will let you know that the original layout had Spike in it, but I actually didn't read either of the current 2 chapters until yesterday as a promise to the author. The reason I left Spike out wasn't because he's less important, it was simply because the image is already busy enough without it, so I had to leave him out of the final version
