From the very beginning of these Ringo-portraits i've wanted to do one with a smile, because Ringo's smile is such a precious one. But I haven't found any good reference for that, it's always "not quite, but almost" kind of smile. Then you watch any kind of footage him playing his drums or singing or goofing around in press conference you just squeal as point "There it is! There it is!" and try to freezeframe it, but that doesn't work either. Not quite, not quite, that'ts not what I saw, and in a moment you've checked every frame and it just wasn't there! When you play back the clip it just shines.

Freaking ninja-smile, hiding from the ones who like to capture it. But then I found somewhere deep in Photobucket a reference photo small and blurry that was it. That's the smile I was looking for. I think it's from A Hard Day's Night, but the reference was so small I couldn't tell for sure. Well, I think I managed to replicate the smile good enough anyway.

I've been watching a lot of interviews with Ringo, and I must say he's such fun, yet deep man, with a lot of dignity in him even when he's goofing around <3 I need to add that the interview with Larry King was the best example, he was there with Paul. And as typical for King, he asked irrelevant/stupid/idiotic questions and misaddressed Ringo as George (isn't that just Epic Fail or what?) and it was Paul who got all worked up^^ It was Ringo's job to ask Paul to shut up and let it go <3

There's just no other man on planet who could ask Paul McCartney to shut up <3
