I find it ironic that got to work on the new pokemon movie because of her Pokemon designs, but the designs in the film actually look more like your style than hers.

Granted I can only look at the trailers so far and see those designs. My point was that Joshua's designs are more "on brand" in general whereas yours are almost speculative zoology from being so tight into biological realism. That was what I meant, and I'm sure the designs you did for the film are great. I didn't mean it as an insult, I was just commenting on style.

I know that now. I am generally fooled by usernames that sound feminine so I end up misgendering people. It's a really bad habit and I apologise, okay? It only happens with folk I don't know personally.

AGH, I tend to be fooled by usernames sometimes especially when I don't know someone personally. "Arvalis" just put me in mind of a girl's name, this has happened to me more than once.
That's a shame. I just think your designs are closer to being on-brand than RJ's, which is why they resemble the film so much really. RJ's almost look like speculative-evolution style stuff really, with very distinct taxonomic affinities, whereas yours look more like Pokemon were just blurry before and you sharpened the focus on a camera (does that make sense??).

I always found Venonat kinda cute, but this is one of the rare instances where seeing it's bug features rendered in a more realistic setting actually made me a little scared at first. But I think the longer I stare at it the cuter it gets.
