A collection of various sketches and studies I did while watching the series premiere of The Legend of Korra. I couldn't resist attempting to draw the fantastic gestures and facial expressions from this show!

I like Korra, even if she is a bit of a drama queen. Good work here. Is that the homeless guy who shared the fried fish with Korra in the park? Or at least Korra shared it with him. I meant the guy in the middle. Like a week ago, I watched the first episode of season two: Spirits, and really enjoyed it. I was so not disappointed.

Yeah, the old guy is Gommu, the hobo/radio operator. He reminded me a bit of Ernest Borgnine's character "Cabbie" in Escape from New York (his voice, mannerisms, etc) which made me happy, haha.
Yeah, I don't think I've personally seen anything from Korra that is out of character. If anything, having a character with less desirable traits just gives them more of a chance to grow. I mean how many people liked Zuko at first? Plus, that show is completed so we know the arcs are satisfyingly fulfilled. There's like 2 1/2 more seasons of Korra left, so I feel like some people tend to jump the gun on these things sometimes.

I see. I think people should see it all the way through, and then decide on whether or not they like it. It's like getting to know more about an individual before judging if they like them or not. Besides, if one doesn't participate or do something, then they don't get to complain about the outcome. I thought Zuko was a dick until we met Azula. She makes him look like a rank amateur in the evildoer department.
