Description Star Trek Odyssey
Season Three - Episode Five

On a diplomatic mission to the planet Anamaar IV, the Andorians second home on the edge of the Beta/Delta Quadrant border, Captain Gaulway and the crew of the Odyssey bear witness to the rank devastation resulting from the Borg invasion. With the reproductive issues that have long plagued the Andorian people reaching crisis level, avenues of research that at first held great promise have proven largely unhelpful, and may well indeed be worsening the problem.
Despite the Federation's seeming inability to provide assistance and growing doubt over its commitment to a staunch, longtime ally, Andorian scientists now offer renewed hope for a solution. However, many segments of Andorian society, mainly those on the home world of Andar are protesting this controversial new approach, and more radical sects are beginning to make their displeasure known by any means available. In response, the Federation President has sent the Odyssey crew and a team of diplomats and scientists to Anamaar to convene a summit, in the hope of demonstrating that the Federation's pledge to helping the Andorian people is sincere...

But others are watching and may lead the Andorians down an even more treacherous path...

"No Tomorrow"

The Odyssey is ordered to Anamaar to help out with a conference that has been convened to discuss the Andorian reproductive issues. Many are worried that the research into genetic engineering will cause the Andorians to lose their cultural identity and this fear has, in some cases, led to a strong anti-Federation feeling and the belief that all non-Andorians should be expelled from the planet. At the far end of this argument are the Treishya, whose activities are bordering on terrorism...

The Odyssey crew attempt to render assistance to the Andorians but a solar energy plant their engineers had helped repair is attacked and nearly destroyed by the Treishya and an archeological party led by Michael is ambushed. During the conference, a full-scale riot takes place and, although Starfleet manage to bring things under control, there are a small number of deaths. Matters are made worse when a Tholian ship visits the planet to reveal they have anonymously provided the leading Andorian genetics researcher, Professor zh'Thiin, with information they gleamed from the Shedai, information that the Federation also possessed but had classified, which increases the anti-Federation feeling.

The Treishya make their move by taking control of the Odyssey, using a device implanted by a visitor to the ship, and also storming the Starfleet compound after disabling the defences. In both cases, the engineering team are able to overcome the problem and the Treishya present are overpowered and captured, although the organisation's leader, Eklanir th'Gahryn, escapes.

However, the Andorian government chooses to initiate a vote of no confidence against their pro-Federation presider and a referendum shows that a significant but not overwhelming majority of Andorians wish to secede from the Federation. The Andorians resign their Federation membership and make approaches to the Tholians to assist with their research.

Admiral Akaar contacts Gaulway and expresses his dissatisfaction with the current situation. He tells Michael that he must not allow the Andorians pull out of the Federation. Yet, when Michael attempts to contact the governments both on Anamaar and Andoria, his attempts are ignored.

Several Tholian ships converge on the Odyssey, opening fire and critically damaging several major systems, Jason Maloney is wounded along with thirty other officers in the engineering section.

Hazel and the medical teams have their work cut out for them. After Jason is triaged, it is determined that he is the most hurt and is seen too at once...

With Romana still on Pacifica, Ryan has temporarily assumed her role at tactical. He struggles to fend off the Tholians and calls for the help of Commander Zor to assist him in manning the weapons controls.
As the attack on the Odyssey gets worse, Josh reports that another Treishya attack on the Anamaar Capitol has decimated the city.
Josh detects several distress calls coming in from the surface, Michael chooses to respond, the Andorian president of Anamaar appears on the view screen mortally wounded. He tells Gaulway that there's been a coup, that he's been mislead by the Treishya and several members of the Andorian Council -that he finally has seen through all the lies and it appears that the Tholians have been manipulating his people for decades and that the Borg invasion gave them the perfect opportunity to put their plan into motion.
The president pleads with Gaulway to get his aides to Earth, that they reverse the decision to withdraw Anamaar and Andor from the Federation.

As the com signal to the Capitol dies, so does the president. Chris and Josh report that they've received a set of coordinates, Michael tells Christopher that he's in command and leaves the ship, headed for the surface in a shuttlecraft with Marla...

Michael and Marla manage to evade the Tholian and Starfleet weapons fire and head down into the Anamaar atmosphere...

Meanwhile aboard the Odyssey, Hazel and her team are battling to save the life of Jason Maloney...yet, it all appears to be in vain...

With the Anamaar president's councilmen onboard the shuttle, Gaulway and Marla head back up to the Odyssey. After breaking free from the atmosphere, the pair look on in horror as they see the Odyssey heavily damaged and its hull breached and the Tholians nowhere to be seen.

Upon boarding the ship, the lead councilman, Sh'ee tells Gaulway that she speaks for her people, that they must rejoin the Federation and that she knows that the Tholians are planning something. Moments later, Gaulway is contacted by Hazel...Jason Maloney is dead...

With the ship all but dead in space, functioning on reserves, it's warp and slipstream cores damaged beyond repair and now it's chief engineer dead and his, Romana and Marla's information concerning certain high ranking officials being from a possible future weighing heavy on his conscience, Michael knows what he must do next...he must face the very people that put their trust in him to command the Odyssey and lead the Federation out of this dark time...
