Description The kangaroo kickboxer. This was a study on using one colour on a coloured background and making due with the values.

I put more time into the left version, but it looks slower than the rough.
I uploaded both of them to cater to my own silly needs.

I like the rough better as an art piece. Mostly unrelated, I think the lines below its feet in the left make it more stiff since the character looks like it is in a twisting motion rather than jumping straight up.

Still think this is the best thing in your gallery- the picture as a whole, it looks great as a diptych and I wouldn't remove either.

And for what it's worth, this is one of only two furry illustrations I've seen that I'd want on a t-shirt and wouldn't feel ashamed of wearing in public, particularly the rough. Something to consider!

I do love hearing that. I think It was the beginning of this year that I realized, "Holy crap, I can do whatever I want if it's done well! I can get a way with drawing anything!"

I must be a lowbrow. I like both versions.

There is nothing wrong with you.

Oh, I don't suggest something's wrong. Only that I don't see the problems in either. They're both excellent drawings and very dynamic and fun.

So I may not know art, but I know what I like. And I like your work.

The one on the left is looking down while I get the impression in the left one that it's looking at me, it makes the pose seem more confrontational and dynamic then when the eyes are turned away. awesome job though!

Thanks for the compliment!

Did you mean the right one looks like it's looking at you?

um...yes. Yes, I do mean right. That wasn't very clear, sorry!

On his left, our right side, his back curve is shallower in the finished version. that may help. Also, the dark mass of his tail seems to de emphasize the dynamicism of his body. lightening it up may bring in the contrast there.

Idk, let me know if it works!

ah, i see why the left one looks slower. You smoothed out all of the rough lines, and all the energy went with it.

I added sharper edge to give some depth, but yes, you can't beat a rough sketch!
