Um...I don't mean to say anything, but I think that's a fiddler crab, not a king crab. Fiddlers have one huge claw and one tiny claw, but kings only have two really tiny claws. They also look a little more like spiders, due to their HUGE legs and small, more circular bodies. Erm, not to be mean or anything, just to let you know. But it's an amazing picture anyway! That's so Luffy, getting ready to eat it. Giant claw? Pshhht....he'll be fine.

Oh, sure, I use random paint brushes in Photoshop and splatter it everywhere with different colors and layer by layer I change the blending options to either multiply or opacity, whichever looks and feels nice C:

oh sure! I'll try to put my messed up coloring method into simple steps for 'ye 
x Be Inspired. This actually gives you the motivation to actually start an artwork. like, before I start to draw I watch an episode or two of One Piece just to get my game on!
x Sketch-sketch-sketch. doesn't also hurt to use references too
x Coloring. actually it's the same as using as textures but I also use different brushes and kinda stack it up layer by layer like crazy!
~I start off outlining the sketch in a new layer with a dark color or black then when I'm alright with it, make a new layer and bombard it with different kinds of brushes like a maniac 
~The colors I use on the brushes depends on the theme of the piece, for example for this artwork I used Red Orange and Yellow
Lastly for the background another new layer and paste the texture, for me, I make my own textures using different brushes again and change the layer's opacity and blending options 'til I get the desired look I want, this applies to all layers and feel free to experiment!! to get different outputs! Hope this helped!
