Hey, it's Jabba in a bikini!
But seriously, the lighting isn't done well here. It looks like she has stripes and is at the supermarket.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 2

FelixCarter In reply to Mrtdark1 [2014-08-05 13:18:07 +0000 UTC]

I, unfortunately, have to agree with you on the lighting. This is not one of Jackson's better works, but it's also far from unsightely. I think I would've liked to see smaller, blurred stripes. At first glance, it's difficult to have a good perspective on the size of the pier Chloe's under, so it appears to be slim planks above with broad filtered lighting below, which doesn't match. But if you take a moment to study the pier, I'd say the planks are actually bigger than they appear, thus creating the effect we see.

I'd say either increase the number of light strips and blur them more, or lessen the blur on the pier as the distance between it and Chloe (and the viewer)Β close. Either will make the lighting affect easier to understand at first glance.

Maybe a tad more distance on the water, as well. The bright lighting for the background is perfect.

What happened toΒ the bottom part of her "bikini?"

Mrtdark1 In reply to FelixCarter [2014-08-05 15:40:13 +0000 UTC]

Also, even if the planks are much bigger than they appear, they wouldn't cast those evenly space stripes. I agree with you on the solution.

Also her tail is waay to big for her body and her head is a bit oddly proportioned as well.Β

Overall, this is probably one of Jacl's better pieces.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

FelixCarter In reply to Mrtdark1 [2014-08-05 17:56:47 +0000 UTC]

In regards to her tail and head, I think that's merely artist's preference. I can see how at first glance the tail's position, shape, and size can make her figure out to be very "jabba-ish," but misleading anatomical imagery exists in real-life photography, as well.

When it comes to a drawn picture (like Chloe here), a smaller head relative to the body can give a slight sense of bulkiness or help exaggerate other key elements of the body. In this case, her breasts, thighs and overall femininity are meant to be one of several focal points. It adds a sensuality to the image. The overly-sized tail - I can only guess - is meant to exaggerate "fluffy-ness."

Β

But that might just be looking to deep into things. I'm guessing Jackson just wanted to make a sexy picture.

Look at the pattern on the wood.

it doesn't match up at all.

'Something for summer', and it's 'under the pier'. Okay, so, uh . . . let's see . . . uhh - the sand, right? It's under the pier, and it's definitely summerish - no, that can't be it. Hm, okay . . . uh . . . - oh yeah, the water! That's it, the water. The water's under the pier, and what could be more irresistibly desirable andΒ powerfully gratifying to those strong, urgent, basic needs than nice cool water during summer? . . . no . . . no that can't be it either. Jeez, I didn't think this would be that tough. It can't be the shadow of the pier on the sand under the pier . . . could it? Nah. Man, I just don't know . . . It's 'under the pier', and it's 'something for summer'. Hmm . . . Oh shit! I got it now! I mean - DUH! - what could be more simple? I mean - it's right there lookin' at me fer cryin' out loud. It's the understructure of the pier itself! It's under the pier, right? - I mean, where else could an understructure be than under something? And it's not just for summer. It's for all seasons, because it's always there! Hot diggity dang! I knew I'd figure this out. It was a tough one to be sure, but I was confident I could nail it, and I did. I gotta say it, people, and this is in all modesty, but sometimes I amaze myself at how observant I am!
