All presidents oversell, and MOST deliver some combination of only about 70% of their promises...
After TWO terms.
Iβm saying this as someone who did not vote for him:
Trump has delivered on 80% in less than ONE. But itβs only the 20% he Has not succeeded at that gets all the attention.
Spin of that magnitude is enough to make me vote for him out of sheer spite of the spinners.

Β It's an ongoing process. But the negotiations were successful so far. One way or another they'll pay for the wall, but even if they don't the bigger priority is to for there to be a wall in the first place.

There have been negotiations on a trade deal, but if you believe Trump's BS about that being "indirect payment" for the wall, the red hat really IS on too tight.

BTIsaac In reply to jollyjack [2019-07-09 07:07:21 +0000 UTC]
I'm sorry but which part of "Securing the border is the number one priority" do you fail to comprehend?
"Trump racks up a bill". You mean by spending state funds on securing the border? Something he, and other laders are expected to do anyway? A bill which by the way is NOTHING compared to the unsustainable ideas dems have.
But sure. Let's go there.
No. If mexico agrees to a deal and doesn't deliver on it, they are the ones to blame.
Just as the bleeding hearted demagogoes in the DNC are to blame for everything that happens to the mexicans they tricked into coming here, on the journey.
Just as the house democrats who actively refuse to provide funding to ICE and the detainment camps on the border are to blame for the conditions there. They can't just go around crying crocodile tears over how many children are forced to sleep on the ground when they themselves convinced companies to stop supplying the camps with beds.

They didn't MAKE a deal regarding wall-funding! They have no intention of paying for it! They stated that as soon as Trump said "Mexico will pay for it", but because he was 100% correct in saying he could shoot someone and you guys wouldn't care, you're buying his redefinitions of what "Mexico will pay for it" actually means.

I will ask you one last time. Which part of "Securing the border is the number one priority" do you fail to comprehend?
Securing the border comes first. Everything else is hairsplitting. I can already tell that once the wall is complete you'll use the "that's not a wall, that's a fence" line, as if we didn't hear that a million times before. You're regurgitating the 3 year old rethoric of democrats who use this sort of impotent hairsplitting to attack trump's policy because they know they can't just come out and admit that they want open borders and a steady stream of exploitable undocumented immigrants.

You must have a curious definition of "doing great." Tacitly supporting genocide in Yemen, drone striking, giving more tax cuts to the rich, and sabre-rattling with Iran are not my definition of "doing great."
Also whenever I get people trying to tell me my state of mind, I almost instantly know that they're full of shit.
Also, you voted for Hillary? Did you manage to scrub the slime off of yourself yet?

Sabre-Rattling with Iran, like Obama did to North Korea? You said Trump is supporting genocide in Yemen? Yet you ignore the fact Obama let Isis infect Syria. Would you rather have Tax Increases for everybody instead of Tax Cuts for the rich? Also since 9/11 The U.S has been drone striking.Β If i'm full of shit, you must be as well.Β

So instead of pointing out those things that you think Trump is doing right, you just say "but what about Obama!". Tell me, what exactly does Obama have to do with what Trump has or hasn't done? The answer to that is "nothing at all."
Even worse, I criticised these things when Obama was doing them too. And when Bush was doing them. Just because they all did it doesn't excuse Trump continuing to do it. I didn't let Obama off the hook for it, and I'm not giving Trump a pass either.
See, this is where you just assuming my political bent is landing you continuously in the saying-stupid-shit mud hole. I don't have any automatic allegiance to any president or political figure. If they do something stupid, I'm going to call them on it, not pat their back and play a bunch of what-about-ism tism games with strangers online in a misguided attempt to protect my own ego by proxy. I suggest you unclamp your arms from around Trump's nutsack and take an objective look at your country's political structure.

Trump has brought black unemployment to it's lowest.
Instead of risking a war with North Korea, he meets up with Kim and prevents a war.
He is more tougher on NATO.
Shall I continue?Β

Ahh yes, the increased jobs. The increased temporary and minimum wage jobs that ultimately don't help the situation at all but make for some nice shallow numbers to throw at the crowd. Obama tried that too and I scoffed at him for it.
North Korea I'll give him full credit for. Honestly, I'm glad he's seeking out peaceful negotiations there. Seriously, good job Trump. Not even bullshitting, it's a great idea.
On the other hand, I'm facepalming hard when he then turns to Iran and start unnecessarily sabre-rattling. And when you consider that he's maybe doing these things simply because it's the opposite of what Obama did, that just makes the whole thing petty. He makes peace with N. Korea, unlike Obama, and he undoes the peace with Iran that Obama set up. And what's the excuse? Well, Iran is a terrorist supporter. You know, much like Saudi Arabia is. Except that Trump nakedly sucks the dick of Saudi Arabia, and supports the fact that they're currently genociding Yemen. Like the right-wing corporate shill that he is.
Yes, he's "being tough" on the members of NATO. He's being tough on Americas... allies? So, you think it's a good thing that Trump is trying to bully America's supposed global allies and friends? That's retarded.
And to what end? For western nations to make a big, bloated, unsustainable military like the US has? Why would you want military expansion? Have the lessons of the last century been forgotten already?
Yes, please do continue. Do you have a youtube channel I can watch you make these shallow, easily refutable with one google search arguments from?

"Incredibly redacted report" = having any redactions whatsoever to prevent harm to ongoing matters and private information. The report is VERY LIGHTLY redacted and by the way, Mueller himself was involved in the redaction process. GTFO.

Ahh yes, to "prevent harm to ongoing matters." = to prevent the government from being caught with its hand in the cookie jar. Given this is America, that cookie jar is big.
I've seen that report, its got more ink blotches on it than a year 2 caligraphy assignment, and that still doesn't explain why Trump is using executive privilege to keep it from Congress. If there's nothing in there, why is he trying to hide it?
How about you cut the crap and stop defending god-emperor Trump long enough to notice something rotten at the bottom of the jar.

always... for as long as there are idiots there will be someone to mock them. Also Mueller didn't find "nothing" he found Trump was too dense to realize he was a puppet so no collusion. (proud day to be an American... your president is too dense to realize he is braking the law and thus free and clear due to "probable cause" ~ the law that states did "he brake the law" knowing there was a law to break.) Mueller also stated that while there is evidence of Obstruction of Justice however he left it for congress to decide if because it's not for his department to make that decision..... Also the law for OoJ is vague as shit.Β
18 U.S.C. § 1503 defines "obstruction of justice" as an act that "corruptly or by threats or force, or by any threatening letter or communication, influences, obstructs, or impedes, or endeavors to influence, obstruct, or impede, the due administration of justice."
Dems believe Trump obstructed justice (through tweet, threats of violence to Micheal Cohen & family, to Mueller (himself & his reputation) during and since the entire investigation, and refusal to cooperate (which if innocent like he said the entire time is 7 levels past stupid because of Obstruction of Justice) even after subpoenas were issued.
GOP says he's fine.
Both the case for and against is flimsy as fuck because most revolve around twitter.... a social media platform.
According to the GOP: twitter is the same as angrily ranting into the wind about someone and thus "not a direct threat, communication, or way to influence parties involved"
Dems believe all social media is a form of communication and thus twitter falls within the guide lines of Obstruction of Justice as written.
So to completely nail Trump on obstruction will lead into a lengthy battle and possible rewrite of Obstruction of Justice which may very well lead to Trump getting away with it much like Nixon and Watergate.
Thus the broken record of history keeps on a spinning and repeating. Β
