Tetsuo has a troubled past. That could explain his firey temper.

Yeah, it could, though a lot of characters (and real people)have troubled pasts and turn out charismatic and fun-loving (or just really quiet and angry)
I think he's easily angered because he's childish. Otomo said somewhere he loved that theme, childish characters. That's why the characters in Domu are either children or children in their minds.
He even took notes at parks XD
