From Kyo Kara Maoh, this is Yuuri and Wolfram tobogganing, with Gunter, Conrad, Gwendal and Dacascos/Dorcas/Dakaskos (however you choose to spell it) in the background.I drew this for the "Winter Holiday/Festival" prompt over at kkm_challenge on Livejournal.

Those hats are worn by them in the series (Gwendal knitted them). They are very cute - I saw a couple of cosplayers at Yaoi Con who were wearing them.

Know of any patterns out there for the hats?

I don't know of any patterns for the hats, but if you can find a pattern for cat-eared hats, it wouldn't take much to modify them.
It would be like a cross between this:

So it looks like you'd have to knit/crochet the round ears separately and attach them. Same with the ear flaps, apparently. The bubbly look of the crocheted hats resemble the look of the anime more than the knitted hats do, but of course that would be up to you.

Completely carefree, fun, and full of movement which is always hard to capture in a drawing.
It takes tons of practice to do that...took me 4 & a half years at a local college to BREAK that bad habit of drawing stiff LINES.
