Works well with 2.8. but I need help. My camera renders a different pose than what's in my view port. I only have one camera and I reset the pose entirely. The camera always render the old pose? Is that a glitch with the plugging?
Thanks

Here is a basic guide to import models into blender using this addon
XPS to Blender 2.7x(Blender internal the easy way)Things we are gonna need are
Blender 2.7x http://www.blender.org/XPS tools addon for Blender (Blender 2.7x XPS Tools 1.1 made by yours truly )A Model for XPS/XNALara (Binary or ASCII)
For Mac Users
Safari automatically unzips downloaded files and deletes the original ZIP file.
Try disabling this function (I don't know how, I never used a Mac) or download using another browser like Firefox.
Preparation
UPDATE: Here is avideo showing the install process. Thanks a lot!
Install Xps addon to blender
First thing we have to do is to installing the addon.
Go to the provided link and download the latest version of the addon. DO NOT UNZIP IT.
Open Blender and go to File > User Preferences
Select the Addons tab and c
Make sure you have the correct version of the addon for the version of blender you are using.
The latest verions are:
Blender 2.79 -> XPSTools 1.8.7
Blender 2.80RC -> XPSTools 1.9.2

I have a little problem, when exporting to Xnalara it's saved as unamed.xps not xps.xps ^^"
Any solution ? None of the option is compaprtible with the actual version of Xnalara/XPS
I use Blender 2.76 (since my computer haven't all the minimum requirement for a later version) and instaled the latest XPS adon fore those versions (1.8.6 from the 2.74-2.79 folder).

You could rename the file... or just set the name when exporting.
If you try to open a model in XPS from:
Modify->Load Generic_item: will open almost any filename supported by XPS (xps.xps, *.mesh, *.ascii, *.obj)
File->Add Model: expects to find a file name xps.xps or generic_item.mesh

So I'm trying to import a model that isn't poseable or a character while I am still trying to find my way around blender. I tried everything, including using another xps model as a framework to get the new one to import, but I can't for the life of me get it to work! I keep getting program error messages when loading the model into XNALara. Is there any way you can fix this for me? If so, I can use what you've done as a framework for future imports. I find it easier to learn when reverse engineering thing compared to learning from text or words.

Probably really late, but, importing is annoying, as I keep getting a GIANT ERROR text box when I tried to load it in. Help? Plz?

That version of the addon requires Blender 2.74 or higher. Update your version of blender. The latest is 2.78

Very cool, thanks for this. BTW do you know what is the maximum number of vertex groups that can be assigned to a single vertex in XPS? I have a model that I'm playing around with and there seems to be a weight bug on a vertex when the model is exported into XPS. When viewed in Blender, the vertex has 6 groups and has no weight bugs when posed.
On a different note, could NGFF potentially support flexes as seen on Gmod/SFM?

johnzero7 In reply to iheartibuki [2017-07-15 01:06:48 +0000 UTC]
XPS only supports up to 4 weights per vertex.
If you are using the latest version of the addon (currently 1.7.2) the addon sorts the weights so the most influentials are preserved.
Also, for the format .mesh.ascii the addon exports all the weights. XPS will only read the 4 first, but if you re import the model to blender then all the weights will be imported.
XNAaral abandoned the XPS project so I would't expect any new updates.

Blender always could import OBJ.
After that, you need to rig the model and create compatible materials for XPS.
Check this guides to find out the necessary stuff to import/export models
