Description
Quiche Winbow is a biophysical anomaly. She eats and eats and never goes to the bathroom. Where does it go? Does she even need to eat, or is she doing this for fun? Some believe she is an anthropomorphized black hole, and that the matter she consumes is lost forever or teleported to another location. Even the denizens of Foodland - who love to be eaten - are afraid because they can't tell if being eaten by her is technically wasting food or not, so they run from her on sight (except for Sausage-kun. Sausage-kun just wants to be eaten by a beautiful woman).

As for the girl herself, she doesn't know either - this has just always been the way she's been. "I just want to try eating at least one of everything," she said as she shoveled fermented fish heads into her mouth. When asked if she felt estranged from the rest of humanity because of her condition, she nodded sadly. "I don't understand toilet humor."

Scientific studies have been unfruitful, as all instruments deployed into her mouth have been expensively lost. Quiche asked for seconds, which were denied by the budgeting officers.

This is one of the fastest illustrations I've made in a long time! It took me probably about...3 days? One of the factors that sped this up for me was that I turned off anti-aliasing entirely. The original file was a 4000x4500 image, so you can't normally notice the pixels. One of the things that removing anti-aliasing did for me was to make bucket fills and magic wand selection much easier since there were no fuzzy edges anywhere, and I was able to comfortably put all the colors on one layer. Not that I did, though. Quiche's colors are actually separated into her flats, shadows, and highlights. But by the time I got to the Foods, I was feeling comfortable enough to have all their colors one just one layer under their line art. Anyhow, I think this works out very well for cel-shaded art, and I'm definitely going to try this again in the future.

As for the title, "Kuishinbou" is Japanese for "glutton." I originally wanted to call this "Cuisine Beau" because it sounds pretty much the same, but some internet sleuthing revealed that "Beau" is a male designation, so I gave up on that. What I settled on 30 minutes ago was the next best thing: Quiche Winbow.
