Haha, yeah I don't know what possessed me to try it. Thanks very much. I bet you could.. especially on paper, it's very basic.

I think there is a delicacy to the lines that someone else wouldn't have have been able to achieve. I've considered painting on myself, and I can see the results can work to your advantage. Nice job!

i really love this...but i think it would look 10X better if you got someone else to pain the designs on your back for you

I'd paint on someone elses back if they were around. It was really just an experiment.. to see if I could manage doing it to myself. Thanks.

I'm right handed.. but I actually found it easier to use my left hand.. go figure. What I did was I put the different colours on the brush at the same time.. then tried to press it into the shape of petals.. hard to rotate it though..
Thanks very much.

Oh it's not that involved.. just a couple of blobs.. making sure I had to right colours on the right bit of the brush. Thank you though.

Well, body landskaping can produce some really fasinating work, and it takes a lot of work to do the lighting just right. But for some reason the only people that a lot of photographers use are younger model types. You may want to try doing something with "non-traditional" models. Models of older people, children, animals or machines. It seems there's sooooo few imaginative people breaking traditions.
I like back photos, because there's so much that can be done with a back, but so few people see the complexaties in it.

At the moment that's not really possible. There's no one around. Why else would I use my own back? But yes, that's a good idea.

Well a part of being creative is finding ways to do what you want in as many different ways as possible.

Well, I try to make the most out of what I have to work with (which is not that much). I'm rather proud of what I manage to do.

Don't feel bad. I started out working on cheap paper and coloring everything by hand. I've taken many steps to be where I am. That's what a lot of art is.

Feel bad? Ah, you missed my point. I'm HAPPY with what I've accomplished.
And I have far more respect for those who bother to colour by hand, rather than using a computer. I don't believe that to be.. improving.

I randomly stumbled upon your gallery, and every piece in it is just amazing. (I don't have many english adjectives in my vocabulary so you'll hear that word a lot in my comments). You painted this yourself? You must be really limber. Looks ..huh..I almost said amazing again but I think stunningly beautiful works better.I just love the idea and the execution of the idea is good too, very good even considering you did it yourself.

I like this one better because the black surrounding you makes the petals pop out more. It's rather striking. And mad fucking kudos for painting that yourself. I can only imagine how difficult and tedious it was.

Johdie In reply to Anavelle [2006-05-27 02:01:09 +0000 UTC]
Yeah I know, that's what I thought. It's just I didn't want to put it in the traditional art catergory for some reason, and I altered it too much to put it in photography. I wanted to combine art and photography, have a design that would add to a photo. I may try it again with something else because I'm not happy with the photos. If I can be bothered that is..
