Description I drew this thing in November while listening to Orbis , then the drawing gradually became sad and blue, 'cause I was heartbroken because of talking jellyfishes. And if that sounds ludicrous and silly, well yeah, it probably is, but still.

I liked Selta the jellyfish and her tendency to call the sonic a "drivescrewer".

Big Finish gets away with so many interesting aliens because they don't have to worry about costume/effect budgets, and its only once in a blue moon we get something like the Star Poet ladies that was in Sarah Jane Adventures and Torchwood. Though aliens in general need a better showing, it's just a shame that I doubt anyone would sign on for companion status and put up with wearing makeup/masks/CGI-tracking gear needed for every week. I want someone like Destrii or Crizz, darnit!

Then again, I'm so easily taken by some alien characters that I found myself admiring a random unnamed alien scientist who got like five pages in a single issue of a 10th Doctor comic , and was quickly disappointed by how she was dropped due to being an incredibly minor character.

I know! A one-scene wonder if there ever was one.

At leas the TARDIS wiki gave her a remarkably fair-lengthed page , though its criminally lacking in pictures.

Love how this is moody. I liked how the jellyfish called the Doctor, Old Doctor. It was a silly story but so sad too.

Yes! Even the villains were so silly and yet so horrible. I thought they reminded me a bit of the Blue Meanies from the movie Yellow Submarine - I mean, you laugh at their antics but you don't want them to win, at all.

Almost as silly as Sigmund the sea monster.

Just... shit, man.

Yeah, better not listen to this one if you're feeling blue...

Orbis will haunt me for the rest of my days.  One of my favorite audios (Selta and her people were so adorable--I love how you've portrayed her!), and I will admit to crying over it.  I was listening to it while working on artwork and toward the end my eyes were so blurred up that I couldn't see the screen anymore.  I had to take a break just to cry and get some fresh air.  ^__^;;

Eight was never quite the same after Orbis.  You could hear the change in his voice and the weight of the universe settling in on him, sapping his passion for life like a poison in his downward slide toward Dark Eyes and the Time War.

It is a wonderful and tragic story. It left me a bit shellshocked, to be honest, which probably explains why I didn't actually cry - but as I said in my comment, I drew this picture while listening to it for the first time, and it was very cute at first, and it became sadder and sadder as the audio went, until the whole picture looked blue. Probably sums up quite well what was going on in my heart.

I think it was worse than Scherzo.

I'd say it's a different kind of tragic stuff.

Different, but there's also a matter of degrees. It's one thing to have your own mind and body screwed around with like in Scherzo, it's another to kill everybody you love.

To be honest, the existential horror of Scherzo hit me a lot more than the accidental genocide of Orbis. I'm not sure why.

I guess it just boils down to which fears resonate with you more personally.

Now would be a good time to mention that I'm scared of empty rooms. Even worse if they are white empty rooms.
