I could easily sympathize with these guys. A creator's OCs don't get enough attention nowadays. Most of the unwanted attention goes to an overrated character in a toxic dump of a fandom. I had high hopes these guys would be on the thank you picture. So, why is everybody directing their attention to some overrated pony character from an overrated and mediocre TV show? That doesn't make any sense. Aside from that, the shading looks pretty good. The same goes to the colors. They look bright and pretty well done. Overall, this is the perfect response to a poll gone wrong.

Actually I happen to love that "Overrated and mediocre TV show" and that "Overrated pony character" happens to be one of my favorite cartoon characters of all time. I love all of the characters that got suggested to appear on the poll, I wouldn't allow them on if I didn't love them. The pic here is mostly the characters' thought on the situation rather than my actual thoughts (I just drew it for fun).
I know MLP is not everybody's cup of tea, but a lot of people (including myself) still love it anyway, and to me it does make sense why a well established TV character is more popular than a couple of OCs that have barely made any appearance in the last year.

My OCs actually seem decently popular, so I guess it depends on the fandom.
And several of my friends have fans of their OCs too!
The problem with official dA contests is that they're extremely picky and hit-or-miss on who they feature.
Sure, they do feature many good artists, but there are also a ton of artists on here who draw even better than them and have been here longer, and yet dA acts like they don't exist.

Yup that's usually what happens when you do fanart. IT gets you recognition, but he recognition it got you is the kind where people only want to see more fan art XD. I personally like Zingo and Boppo way more than those other options x3.

Do you mean Ziggo instead of Zingo? Ziggo is one of my OCs that I'm pretty sure I told you about.
The reason I thought this is because Tony once called Ziggo "Zingo" on accident.
Ziggo is the sorcerer with the weird magic powers, if you don't remember him.
