Description Today I decided to attempt the 30 minute challenge! To be honest, I like how this came out!
despite that the scanner is always using bright lights to make the light pencil markings fade away. Oh well...

I was even more surprised to see that I completed 90% of the character in under 20 minutes.
the other 10 minutes was spent on the scene and detailing the character some more.

Well look at you Joe, already on your way with your own little 30 minute challenge, bravo!

Already could see you doing this simply because you straight up asked about in the last comment and kudos on everything here you managed to jab into that tiny half hour!  Have to give you some immediate credit not just for being bold enough to try out the contest for yourself but rather actually spending the time to add in a background to go along with your sketch, well done!

Can't say that I ever would hope to find a sexy female zombie at school but have to hand it you Joe on trying something new in your line of art, even if that form comes in a curvy zombie gal in a school swimsuit of all things! ^O^

Already like the fact though that you didn't want anything in the image here to be too gory or rotting like most deviants would do with the title zombie underneath it.  It actually reminds of a nice pin-up with the same idea of the booty there sitting on the side of the pool and the girl giving you that nice little twist towards you.  Bonus point on the rather toothy grin on her part but do like the lips for obvious reason, lol.

Looks good though what you did manage to put into the picture and I can see alot of nice angling as well as some perspective effects too.  Like the placement of the other end of the pool to balance out the one side where she sits is good, the fact you picked up on the position of the butt and how it fleshes out to her left leg is another nice touch.  And good show on even handling things like her zombie skin with the lines to show the skin chipping away and even the left arm there with that section of muscle missing, wow!

And good show along with the eyes showing their deal pale look and how they're surrounded by all the dark lines as well as even the nose for the matter.  The hair turned out pretty well and meant to say before good to see your still including the hands especially the left to show the way its holding that weight of the body pressing on it.

Will finished off saying though you might care to check a bit into the anatomy just for seeing how much the spine can twist to create this pose.  It could very well be just my mistake but if anything out from this random blurb if your ever uncertain about a pose, try it yourself in and mirror and see how it looks.  Its sometimes the best mean of referencing your work.  HOWEVER.......this was done in a speedy 30 minute drawing, like fun I'm going to be super serious about all of this. ^O^

Seems like your scanner might need a re-adjustment or two but if your able to get any options of settings surrounding your machine, play with them and make some notes so you can get your drawing to come out better.  How do I know this?  Trial and error lad, lol.

HOLY CRAP! that's a big comment!
Let me digest this for 30 minuets.
...

OK!
You took a lot of time looking at her,  So I will tell you her story.
She is the first of my Calendar girls. Diana topaz!
Belly dancer, Party girl, and Goth chick!

Her mother was an Egyptian belly dancer.
with her, she has training in traditional dancing. "Raqs Baladi"
I don't know much about it so I watched this video. ...Meh.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=zCLt3f…

Her father was a Master of ceremonies, born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada.
With him, She has become the kind of young woman who just loves to party all night long,
and then sleep all day with a Hangover.

One night, the situation went to far and she drowned at her dads pool party,
Then her grandmother used Egyptian mysticism to bring her back.
Grandma was drunk then, So now shes a zombie. ...D'oh!
Diana decides to become a goth chick from there on.
"Just roll with it..." is her explanation about becoming a zombie.

I thought about Placing more Zombie-related rot and decay on her body.
But once I got the basic body components complete, I did not know what to do with her next?
Now after reading your comment, I think I will keep her body young. The Zombie mysticism/Virus is
keeping her body in its prime and away from rotting micro-bacteria. So says the Zombie survival guide.

And she's Not a school girl, she graduated from UNLV.
And I did not copy Shantea to make her! I actually copied another character ( Lori "Lefty" Lopez)
Kinda weird how one idea leads to another? Huh?

And lastly, I Thank you for you supporting this newcomer!

Digest for 30 minutes, oh damn that's a new one. ^O^

Neat story to back her up and happen to like the tie-in with the Egyptian part in her family especially since Egyptian background has alot to do with their respects of the dead and the whole mummifying process and such!  But still a good story to get the ball rolling on her. *nods*

That's a mighty fine idea right what you said before with keeping her body from getting too rotten to look at.  Drawing zombie girls at the DA is a fine line and you gotta be both respectful to not making work feel too gory but enough to express the unique and undead feel of your character.  I would suggest noticing a few other deviants on there DA here who already draw zombie girls, heck I bet there's even a club or two around that you could research and learn what works and doesn't work for zombies at the DA.

Yeah well that's how ideas are formed Joe, one thing can lead into another and its good that you sought through it instead of letting it pass, good on you.

Oh please, I'm very happy to be of help to anyone around here.  I used to have no one around my pages for months on end around here, its amazing what a bit of support can mean to any deviant here which is the reason I'm happy to dispense it to every deviant I can find. ^-^
