well, this is my first entry for the RIFT contest, i'll probably submit another one in the future.(*EDIT: here are my other entries:

this one was a bit challenging to paint cause it have all the elements i hate to paint.
i hate painting backgrounds, rocks, water, and architectonical stuff, so i decided i'd paint all those things and make a cool end Boss. i'm really happy of the wait it turned out, and i really hope you like it...
i'll cross my fingers to make it to the finals cause i need a new tablet....

(it's all painted with photoshop, no textures used, only a couple of custom brushes)

Looks great with the white outline and the red contrasting sea plants.

haha i don't think i'm the best person to ask tips on painting water. i just found a cool brush on my photoshop brush collection and thought it would work... and it did, i actually hate to paint water... i'm sorry i can't help you...
