Description Ayia radioed the entire force. “Attention! Orbital Drop pods are coming in hot. You will hear them coming. The drop locations should appear on your radar. Be sure to stay out of their way!” She knew most of her soldiers were near their vehicles prepping for departure. But protocol told her she had to be safe. The same message had to be said when supplies were dropped. Sure enough the sound of several sonic explosions could be heard as the Special Forces entered the dense part of the atmosphere.
Josh looked at the GPS computer attached to his arm. He saw a large circle with the words -CLEAR AREA- written inside. A little to the left of the circle’s center, was Josh. He started to run and watched as the circle began to flash red and shrink in diameter. He continued running as fast as he could for about 10 meters until he jumped to get out of the way of the pods impact site. Josh covered his head and heard no sound of impact for about five seconds. He rolled onto his back and then looked up to the sky. The pod had deployed a parachute and was slowing down. Josh even had time to stand up as he watched it fall. When it was about a kilometer above the ground the trapezoid shaped pod opened on the bottom and a VHB with a solder riding fell. It did not deploy a parachute but instead ignited its jet engines and practically glided down to the ground, stopping right in front of Josh. The vehicle powered down and then the female commando stepped off. She walked up to Josh and he saluted as she took off her flight helmet, revealing her red-orange shoulder length hair. The helmet seemed similar to the helmet Raymond’s Squadron wore.
“Captain Lamero?”
“Yeah,”
“Colonel Saxton, I need to see General Fingel.”
“She is about a click to the west Ma’am.” Josh replied.
“Thank you Captain.” She put her helmet back on and mounted her VHB. The vehicle sped off in the direction Josh specified, kicking up a large trail of dust in its wake.
Josh radioed the General. “Colonel Saxton is on her way ma’am.”
“Thanks Josh,” he heard in his ear piece.

This painting has been a long time coming, been holding off on it because I wasn't sure I could pull it off. Hope you enjoy!

EDIT: Added more depth to the painting with darker shadows and some lighting issues fixed.
