I like the warm colors on this photo, the create a nice retro look, but are also very fresh.

I had a great time! I have never been to a car show and wondered how well I would do photographing. The lighting was amazing so made it easy!

Excellence Skip...I must say you did a formidable job on the whole series of this event...bravo
Equally impressive is how well the ol' Rebel handled the high ISO...I hardly see a trace of any noise

Joe-Lynn-Design In reply to Trippy4U [2014-03-18 13:00:29 +0000 UTC]

Thanks man
This is 3 cars. I have about 30 more coming
Its hard to leave any out. The lighting was amazing and made it so easy. Too much lighting if anything.
The Rebel did do well although I used a noisware on some but it was so minimal you can hardly see it in the full res

That's what I was thinking when I saw it was 3200...you certainly could have lowered it to 1600 or even 800. But I think its really fine as presented.

Oh crap 30 MORE?...let me grab my Anti-Power-Posting Crash Helmet

I do try different settings so I don't get home and have a full card of crap
I should have some with lower ISO coming but there was no way of setting up the tripod and it actually got to a point of elbow room only before the day was over so I used auto settings after that so I wouldn't chance blurred shots. It was like you just keep moving and if you stop you slowly get trampled I have never seen such a crowd in a very long time.
So far, posted just 1 shot with people though

That was another thing I thought after we spoke about you going....I was going to suggest to you to use a mono-pod instead. I know how these conventions can get so CROWDED

Joe-Lynn-Design In reply to Trippy4U [2014-03-18 14:05:27 +0000 UTC]

You did mention that too. I took the tripod but didn't use. Suppose I could use it with 1 leg. Should have tried a few
Well one thing, I got a great collection of pics from it so I'm really happy about that
I'm usually concerned about camera shake and they are nice and clear so mission accomplished

Trippy4U In reply to Joe-Lynn-Design [2014-03-18 14:13:30 +0000 UTC]

I agree from what I see...you didn't even need the tripod. It was good you brought but after seeing the lighting conditions I would have put it back in the car.

Joe-Lynn-Design In reply to Trippy4U [2014-03-18 14:18:09 +0000 UTC]

It would have helped to lower the ISO but its OK
I just chose random pics. Wait till you see some of the shots I got So cool

Thanks for the encouraging words
I really didn't get much response from these pics so always wonder how others see them.

I hate to say it but it may because you posted too many at once
But I can't say for other people...all I know is I looked at them all and was impressed. If you were working for a newspaper and had this assignment to cover...you delivered!

Naw my band of followers is very small. A lot of lazies too. I posted to an album on facebook ans shared with 300 friends and got 6 likes. All you have to do is click one like for the entire album. Nope, that's why I don't add friends. I only seem to have a few that like and comment. Same old half dozen.
Its good cause I don't have to spend every waking moment looking at their stuff

Well I'm going to create an album for them. There will be a hundred or so likely but they can sit in an album and show an example of my photography if someone needs some shots of their car or wants a canvas of their car or something.

Now you're using your head for more than a hat rack. Great idea...I hope you left your card with each car owner.

Hehe! Yup, been always doing this.
My stuff gets shared far and wide over dozens of accounts across the internet. I have 3 facebooks and 2 twitters and Becky has 1 of each but also we have pinterest and G+. Plus I have tons of others and also I have 131 now adds on Kijiji classifieds. I just keep reposting and that's been almost my best advertising. I will put 8 great pics from this album and all of what I have to offer.
I sell prints from Texas to the Northwest Territories. Could always be more but its gaining all the time.

Well you have a job. This is part of mine
I just made a $200 sale today to a friend in US who I met on dA when I first came here. She deleted her dA a year ago or so but we stayed friends on facebook.
Its networking and it brings at least half my sales.

That is great Skip...I'm very supportive of those who use inter-networking. I never caught the "bug" to use it. My work all comes from word of mouth referrals. This I feel more comfortable with because in a convoluted sense I'm not working for complete strangers. Plus if things go wrong I'll have someone to blame. Like, "Why in the hell did you get me involved with that ass."  But luckily so far I haven't had to ask anyone that. But maybe it was asked about me...I have had a couple of no-call backs over the years

Haha! I'm pretty sure everyone is happy with your work
Its just one more poker in the fire for me. I have more pokers than brain cells these days Haha! Getting spread pretty thin but anything online stays there and I have people sharing my posts on pinterest every single day that I haven't even posted on there in almost 2 years. They are linked to sales adds or my website and such and people find me all the time that way so its pretty cool. I have invested giga hours into the web and its at least working for me although I need to 5x what I'm doing now just to say I'm doing ok.
