Bit nervous to show this off, as I always am with my traditional work. I always feel they scan bad. This piece took me a whole lot of planning, thumbnailing and three nights of inking and coloring with markers. It's fairly large, on 11x17 paper.I'm sure by now my friends are tired of me talking about Bayonetta since I've been jerking off the game for nigh two years now. I can't help it! It's one of my all time favorite games developed by one of my all time favorite dudes, Hideki Kamiya! So here I have Bayonetta and her rival Jeanne both falling and shooting stuff, like they tend to do. I consider it far superior to the "duuur" faced Bayonetta I did last year for the fan art contest:

I consider any change in a year to be a positive improvement.
Copics, Multiliners, Gen Pen, White Acrylic, Gold & Silver Metallic Prismacolors on 11x17 Bristol paper
The Metallic Gold & Silver I used doesn't really show very well in the scanner, but it looks kinda badass IRL

Actually, they're grey, but that makes for boring coloring in a mostly greyscale piece. Simply for effect. Chill.

hha yeah I agree! I love both of them so much, but Jeanne look is harder for me to capture and I didn't really nail it. Here breasts are also too big.

Haha yeah, its funny how Jeanne's chest is half the size of Bayonetta's x) I was doodling her all over my notes last year, trying to get her how I want her to look Dx I can do her whole body except her face <.>

I cant really critique drawing wise since I'm not the best and I think you did an awesome job forshortening.
only thing is to practice soft blending your makers more (warning, this takes a long time and uses more ink).

Nice, you handled Bayonetta's foreground hand pretty damn well.
Is this the 'entire' scan? I ask because I'd love to see the gun continue on off the paper. I'd also like to see the work you did on Jeanne somehow made more prominent. It looks so well done, but my eye initially ignores it because of how powerful that red is and the general shading on her body. I love Bayonetta in here as well, but she's pretty much secondary to Jeanne's form, which is what I see on display.
It's actually almost as if she (Bayonetta) is hiding in the picture and the look on her face is sheer smugness because the viewer is about to get shot in the face (or the person next to them anyway).

Yeah I agree with what you're saying. When I thumbnailed out the composition it was supposed to be more centered, but when I started drawing it on the larger paper I sort of shifted it to the right. That's why I'm always nervous about my traditional stuff since I have much less control over my mistakes. (but that's part of the fun too!) No control Z!
This is pretty much the piece comp together from my scanner, but I'm thinking of extending the gun fully and Bayonetta's side from the border if I make a print of it. The colors are a bit off when I uploaded it to DA.I was trying to go for a B&W piece with red touches, but I guess doing all of Jeanne's suit red is kind of over powering.
