Why can't you accept it? Maybe it depends on how you look at it. From his perspective or from the viewer perspective.
Because I love scenes like that, they mean so much more. You have plenty of ho-ho-ho-happy ending everyone, and "no good character with a name will be killed" -.- Please...
Scenes like these are that make these animes so god damn good They are on a completely different level than other animes.
Emotions that are woken up and stired with these kinds of scenes are deeper, more true to you than laugh that can be brought up with the simplest of jokes.

I really... how can I say... I f**king love that scene, unexpected and greatly done. And looking for the history side, it was awesome and very shocking... That "what's next?" feeling. Just said that can’t accept 'cause he is one of my fav characters.

What about the scene with the Naomi Misora? No matter how great the L's scene was, Naomi wins it by a long shot.
