Description This is a 40 minute sketch I did of the beautiful kayleighjune. You can find her photo here: [link] I just loved the purity of the picture.

I hope I'll soon have time to do a more detailed drawing of her, maybe once my thesis is over

So long I hope you'll enjoy this. I coloured the paper with watercolour and then drew on it with black and white charcoal.

That looks really awesome! Your highlights are really nice and I like the level of detail in her facial expressions. Though I find it a pity that you didn't shade her cheeks more. It's hard to see, but there are actually more layers of shading. But perhaps you were unable to do that because you only took 40 minutes to create this beautiful piece of art

Joane In reply to BartPinnock [2011-07-28 19:22:37 +0000 UTC]

Yes, that's right there is not really any shading on the face, as usually when I do sketches. That and the hair is what saves all the time

So when I have only very little time to draw but still really want to, I just leave these parts very simple

wtf, das ist doch technisch jetzt wirklich nicht so gut^^ Wie kommst du drauf? Dennoch natΓΌrlich danke fΓΌr die blumen

LeCharbon In reply to Joane [2011-06-26 19:42:28 +0000 UTC]

GOORGEEEOUS!

No really, this is beautiful! And what a creative idea with coloring the paper!
Did you draw it on watercolored paper? And did you use pencil charcoal?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Joane In reply to Leovagirl [2011-06-25 22:06:43 +0000 UTC]

yes I basically painted a base of colour on the white paper then let it dry for a day pressed in a book (the paper was really wavy) and then just drew on it with a normal charcoal pencil

Leovagirl In reply to Joane [2011-06-25 22:32:31 +0000 UTC]

Sorry if I sound dumb, but how can you keep the paper from curling up under a book if its wet?

I definitely want to try charcoal more

Joane In reply to Leovagirl [2011-06-26 07:59:16 +0000 UTC]

haha sorry my bad: i let it dry first, then it curls up a bit, then you press it under a book and it gets sorta flat again

Leovagirl In reply to Joane [2011-06-26 20:23:13 +0000 UTC]

OHHH no I shouldn't have realized, stupid me xD
Did you do it on watercolor paper? It seems like something I might want to try!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Joane In reply to Leovagirl [2011-06-26 20:25:57 +0000 UTC]

no, just normal drawing paper, thicker than just printer paper though

Leovagirl In reply to Joane [2011-06-26 21:01:56 +0000 UTC]

Alright, thank you!
I think I'm going to try it! That does save time and I can just color any paper I want!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Joane In reply to Leovagirl [2011-06-26 22:11:54 +0000 UTC]

yeah that was my initial idea- I just went out of coloured paper so I just coloured it myself Hope you'll enjoy it!
