Liutenant Reeves and I had been searching for three days before we finally located the target encampment just over 6 klicks out to the east. At this distance it would be very unlikely we were spotted on our approach on foot and our extremely limited energy signature would be difficult to detect even if we were far closer. And at such a distance even the lack of visible camouflage on our Scout Armor would hardly make a difference. We were in a great position to setup shop.

The M-82z-L had an effective range of at least 15 kilometers and Reeves was the best shot in the sector. The vantage from this outcrop gave us a full 360 view of the valley below and a direct line of sight into the main bunker in the enemy camp where our target was located. Now we simply wait for a shot.

Sniper teams in the Forward Recon Detachment are trained to survive and perform in a wide range of environments under a wider range of conditions. Here on Verdanth the air was temperate and stayed relatively stable at night, we had enough water and rations for 6 days and the grass atop this outcrop helped make our prone position rather comfortable. This job would be one of our easiest yet.
