of course it looks original, I just said that because I watched it for the first time that night. It's really good

Yeah, itΒ΄s all digital. Of course, my style is also to a certain degree pseudo-manga.. but I know what you mean.

It took me a while to finish this... maybe something like 20+ hours.

The full drawing is indeed really good, but the close up, is in a way, even better, since a lot of detail got lost in the original.
I like the "paintery" style you adopted for this particular piece, that makes one wonder on the media used (although I'm quite certain it's all digital) and is really appropriate to the subject. It also brings to mind some mid-60s classic north-european animation series. (I can't be sure of any examples though, since a great deal of time has passed since I last saw them) Of course, that is hardly strange coming from you (I suppose actually being from that part of Europe helps in terms of finding inspiration), yet very amusing to find in the context of the modern world, so often engulfed by drawings inspired by poor quality american pseudo-manga...

On a sidenote, how much time did it actualy take you to reach this level of detail?

"City of Ember"? I've never heard of it before, so I checked it out on Amazon. The story seems quite interesting... and I can see now why you thought this was an illustration of that book.

Wow, beautiful. It's even more striking close up.

BTW, since I'm bad with email now (and forever), thanks for colouring the Believe picture. It looks really good. Eventually I'll post it here, when I'm less lazy.

Thanks. ^__^ It's me who's lazy.. how much did it take for me to colour it? More than a month at least.

I love the fact that your work is so understated yet so beautifully rendered and executed. You display all of the qualities of solid design and creativity without any of the arrogance or sense of self-importance, and that is far too rare a quality these days.

LOL No, i was referring to the art itself, not your comments or your DA habits. Your work gives the feeling that you geniunely care about your creations, rather than being these overboiled pieces of pomp that just serve the artists' arrogance. I suppose it's sort of an abstract concept if you think about it, but its just the feeling I get.

Thanks for your comment... Could also be that I'm just too lazy to advertise myself all around the web and DA.

Thanks for the
