I saw the finished version of this and I'm still very new to using Photoshop. So in order to get to your finished version, did you first have to draw the picture out on paper and then scan it into the computer. Then after that, you use Photoshop? ...and with your skills, it turns into the finished version?

I agree with these people. There shouldn't be any pattern on the fabric; that would detract attention from the rest of the clothes. If you REALLY want to have a pattern, make it a subtle one that doesn't stick out.

As she's a fairy, why not draw some cloud patterns? Chinese style, of course. ^_^
Traditional painting, or palace/temple murals are good examples.
Although you can try here for some inspirations.

Well I think your embroidery is already kickin'. But if you wanna find more chinese styles I suggest going to a library or googling it, that's what I do.

About the coloring, I agree with others. You already have wonderful details on the costume pattern. Maybe you can add some texture to make the fabric looks more elegant and realistic. Hope this helps >w<
