Considering the amount of time I spent dicking around with this image (the lineart rotted on my hardrive for several months before I remembered it existed), it still looks awfully crappy. Mainly I was just dicking around with various ways to color, and playing with all the options in Corel Painter. I have to say that the various media the program offers is pretty fun and makes for an interesting result if nothing else. The one thing that did bother me is that you have to export as either a JPEG or a BMP and you don't even get the PSD option that Manga Studio offers, so I had to convert the BMP to a PNG before I was comfortable with touching it up a bit in Photoshop (me + BMP = distrust), but it still looks like shit.I have no clue why you'd be interested in any of that.

Interesting work! It's fun trying to give angry or scared looks to a character, and so one begins to think of how the facial expression changes, what wrinkles are useful to show angriness or fear, etc. Keep on!

She looks like she's been taken straight from a snuff-themed horror film. Or that awful "Without a Trace" show. Does it have a story behind it?

Not really, sadly. I just wanted to draw someone looking scared in a dungeon scene and when I first did it she was a D&D themed character, but I scrapped that and just updated her clothes and hair.
