Description A quick sketch/painting practice.

I haven't drawn in months and I dish this lady out, I'm really happy! Tried out some new Photoshop techniques.

Playing around with colors, still need to work on that.

Your shading is really great here, good illumination and use of light.

The expression and pose are great. It reminds me of renaissance paintings. The shading and the lighting looks really good to me, it shows the forms of the body really well. However, I think it could use a stronger sense of lighting, whether that's more highlights on the skin, or if she's backlit more of a glow around the edges. The eyes really stand out, but I think they could use some texture rather than being flat? Like how eyes have those radial lines in them? And i think the excess colour around the tips of the fingers looks messy, but the hands themselves are really good and I love the knuckles.

Saw this on the critique thread, so I thought I'd give it a gander and dish out a few suggestions

My first reaction to this was that there are some nice textures- I love the freckles, and the hair has a nice soft quality to it. I’m usually not really a fan of monotone color, especially pink/purple, but this was really well done- you have just the right balance of hues. And the shading is spot on.

Β

The left hand (our left) was really well executed. The one on the right seems a little small, and while the knuckles have some great modeling, the rest is a little more flat. I don’t think it’d be as noticeable if it wasn’t for the other hand being so well done.

Β

I also wonder if the curve of the breasts are a little high, considering she’s leaning forward slightly. Lastly, to (our) left, the portion of her hair below the bangs seems a little skewed compared to the other areas- it’s more triangular shapes, while the rest is more organic and straight. More just a consistency thing, and that is being REALLY nit-picky.

Β

The proportions in the face are very well-done (allowing for stylistic changes, such as the size of the eyes.) I love the shading over the collarbone and neck areas. Impact-wise, I love how you allowed the white background with some minor additions (the petals) to give the piece the β€˜oomph’ it needs.

Β

Overall, great job. The execution is great, there are just some pretty nit-picky things for any future work.
