Haven't made a new character in a while. Oh hey look a new character.
I continue to struggle to understand how to make good character reference sheets.

Anyway. Here's Nasir, my character from a new Finnish Avatar: The Last Airbender and Legend of Korra themed forum rp, run by a friend of mine and a friend of hers, Varicellae and ZeRaLeX . I was tasked with writing the info for the Republic City police as well as creating the current chief of police, and, here he is. I really wanted to try something different with how I draw men, and I guess I kinda succeeded? I mean he does look different from the rest of my male cast, I think.

This thing took ages to finish. And by ages I'd say at least two weeks. Most of that time was because of either I didn't feel like drawing because of how heckin' hot my room gets, and the rest was my laptop lagging like crazy because it struggles to run photoshop, I'm sure the heat doesn't much help. I really probably should start looking into an actual desktop, or do something to help this old girl run a little easier. I'm just not too savvy with the hardware side of computers.

I like how the pics turned out tho. The shading and values aren't really mirrored, but it's close enough. I especially like how the captain's armor turned out, that was pretty fun to draw too. Tho, I only just as I was finishing noticed how weird that arm is, but eh, too late. Toes are also hard to draw. Was drawing that armor all that necessary, since the design is the exact same as it was in the show? Probably not, but I just wanted to see him in the full chief of police getup.

Anyway, um. I hope you like. I mean Idk what else to talk about really, he's a really fresh character and I've been slow to rp as him, it's been fun so far but I don't really have all that many stories about him, yet at least.

There you have it. I haven't been all that active with art recently, so it felt nice to get to draw this guy. Been either too tired from work or busy during my weekends, and the aforementioned heat making it generally unpleasant to draw digitally isn't exactly helping. I don't like the heat someone please take it away.
