More of me playing around with the original cover art made. Using the separate background and characters images Albaharu sent me, I was able to put together this mock up of a dust jacket like you find on some hard cover books.

The fun part was thinking of something to do with the flaps that fold over the edges of the cover and into the book. Typically these just have summaries of the book, the author, or other more technically inclined things. But I thought that was kind of dull, so I opted to stick Clem and Sarah on them.

The idea is when you open the book, you'd find the flap with Clem and love being something you don't find, and you might think this is going to be a very bleak story. Then when you reach the end you'd find the Sarah flap about love finding you and possibly see it as a more hopeful work, which was my intention when I wrote Young and Young at Heart .

If you wanted to get meta with the flaps, you could say while the book was open and you were reading it, the events of the story (body of the book) is keeping them apart and when you close the book when you're finished, you're bringing them (and the flaps) together. Of course, the assumes you read the whole thing all at once and never have to close it do something else, so maybe that's a silly idea.
