Description Masquerade.

I tried a looser approach with this painting, one that I enjoyed doing and may try more of this style.

This is beautiful, a very atmospheric piece, the skin tones and your use of warm reddish colours is lovely (makes it really glow). If only I had such patience with oils.

hey funny you say that, in the art forum I belong to it was picked up as a lighting error, but I was kinda just going abstracty background.

Well I thought it was like how the old masters painted their portraits onto very dark almost black backgrounds getting that really effective result they did.

Lovely! Nice mysterious pose and the feathers look great. I reckon some golden details would really pop against the reds!

Lol funny you say that because I want to do some gold but alas, I have run out of yellow paint lol. I was trying to make do with ochre but it just doesn't cut it darn!

The only way I'm going to get something tonight for gold is if I melt my jewellery and stick the globs on there, hey that would work, if I was a little richer... Tomorrow I shall off to the art shop and buy me something yellow or gold-like
