I made this. It was fun, but disappointing in how many pieces there were to it. Too much gluing and whatnot.

I don't really know how I'm supposed to compare my skills to your own, because you seem to be new to dA, and you have yet to upload any of your work. I have my own work. I'm proud of it. I've been doing this for a year. At the time of this build, I only had about 2 months of experience. If you don't like it, or think it's not as good as yours, I don't really care.

I didn't. hehe. I don't really fold/score anymore. I like the look of the models when they are smoother.

Sometimes that just makes it mode jagged though, when the pieces aren't fitting properly =/

That's where practice comes in. When you are confident enough with the model and how it's supposed to look, you can get it to look the way it's supposed to. When I was first starting about not folding/scoring, I still printed the lined versions. I used that as a guide on where to go.
Other than that, if you find the pieces aren't fitting nicely, glue a tab, wait for it to fry completely, then glue the next tab. That should make it look more natural.
