I'm on a roll this week. Another picture for EquineXhange (joint it...!), this time for ~MoonStriped . Hoorah, he hasn't got horns or wings or mega complicated painted markings!I'll probably come back to this and fiddle around. Some things are too smudgy looking for my liking.
Couple of references, including Moonstriped's own pictures, and one from ~rewston-stock , just for the initial pose.

Beautiful tones, wonderful shading as always.
The only thing I would suggest (and this is only because of personal preference, nothing wrong with the image) is to make the mane longer though I understand if the character doesnt have that but I have an obsession with long flowing manes! *happy grin*

The 'character' is actually ~MoonStriped 's own horse, and he had a short sorta mane. I'll cook up a long mane for you some other time!

Oooooh this is so gorgeous :3 I love how everything looks so painterly and yet you still managed to get all that detail in with the bone structure of the head and muscles of the neck, and even the little wrinkles on the lips and the veins! wonderful job, Holly, this is definitely something to be proud of!
