When Cassie asked if i wanted to do this shoot with her snake, I was super excited. I can work under almost any condition, but had never shot with a snake before. Kontra (precious little golden kingsnake that she is) was so relaxed and easy to work with. Other than constantly trying to curl up where it was warm, she brought a lot of snakey fierceness to this shoot.

Really surprised nobody wrote anything along the lines of "You can charm my snake any day" or some such... unless I missed it.

lol. there might have been a sort of rude comment early on, but i usually let folks know to behave respectfully. or my hope is that people will always treat me like a person. ^_~
but i had fun on this shoot. and am working out a second photoshoot to use this dress for. my friend Chrystina will be wearing it under water. very excited.

So that's a real snake on your head? o.o It certainly looked very real to me when I saw it. That's one elaborate and awesome outfit not to mention adding in the snake. ^^ The makeup work is great too, and you're eyes are beautiful as always.

thank you, the makeup was fun to do. i kinda did some of the gold leaf fancy i used for the mermaid stuff, but i;ve never done dark black around my eyes like this. straight up panda! but it looks nice on camera ^_~
and yeah, Kontra (the snake) was soo soo sooo nice.

You're welcome. The makeup did remind me a little of the mermaid one a little yeah, that's some fine work. 
And I admit that I'm rather intimidated by snakes.

I hadn't held a snake in a good........ 20years? i think. it's been a while, not since grade school really. so i was like "yeah i am cool with snakes...i think..i'm pretty sure"
and it turned out great. very helpful that the snake was not venomous. ^_~ i would have been much more nervous.
for my day to day make up, i stick to natural tones (brown everything). black around my eyes reeeaaaaally is harsh with the freckles and light hair. but for photography? or a costume, i can get used to more. actually this shoot made me think i should give black another chance ^_~

and i'm trying to post more often, but it's hard when the majority of stuff i do is for work and i dont have permission to post it T_T
but more costumes and photoshoots this summer. and not just me in front of the camera! i'm excited to costume and design for some other girls.

soooooo many positionings. especially since she'd wrap around everything. it's 3.5ft of snake to adjust!! and once she slithered into the dress in between the lace and the tulle. that was hard to get her out of again
