Think Kris/Frisk with Sora/Roxas. The inner soul of Frisk is hurting seeing someone reminding of him Asriel and how he had to say goodbye to him. I get a very strong Roxas/Sora vibe with the way Kris is being done in Deltarune. There's a lingering spirit of Frisk in there.
