OKAY THIS LOOKS SO OOC I’M SORRY.

Um. It would take a lot of text to explain this. But based on the idea that Ghirahim intended for Link to destroy Demise (thereby freeing him) and did not actually get destroyed at the end… I was brainstorming on what to do with Ghirahim if he came back, no longer having to put on a facade. I think his knowledge and skills would be a great asset in exploring/charting the Surface to prepare it for settlement. I think Zelda would be understanding and forgiving once she understood the situation… and Zelda’s acceptance would mean Groose would probably eventually warm up to him, if only to keep from upsetting Zelda.

Since the other Skyloftians never even MET him during the course of the game, there would be no bad stigma for Ghirahim to overcome if the Surface team decided to work with those in Skyloft interested in exploring the Surface.

As for the sketch itself, this might be one of my favorites. I am not sure if I’ll do a full size version, but for different reasons than usual. I LIKE the rough and ambiguous lines that allow me to render the idea of the scene without getting bogged down in little details like Ghirahim’s outfit (which is an original one. I figure he might want to wear something warmer and less foreign if he’s going to be interacting with anyone in Skyloft).

I love Link’s somewhat smug expression as Ghirahim leans over the map, a hand on Link’s shoulder for balance. Maybe they haven’t hooked up yet, and while Ghirahim is still playing aloof, it’s moments like these where Link KNOWS that deep down, there’s mutual affection there. Zelda seems cool with it all. I gave them a pet Remlit because I’ll use any excuse to surround these characters with cute things. Groose is eager at the prospect of adventure, and since he’s not a total doofus, I think he realizes that as long as Link is besotted with Ghirahim, it will mean Zelda is still available for him to woo.
