Excellent render. The lighting is fantastic and the sheet looks amazing in the water.

That's amazing. It's a great composition irrespective of the believabilty of your digitally rendered model. Bravo.

You're welcome.
Can I ask you a question - would you mind if I used this image in one of my Computer Graphic Lectures? (I teach at Cranfield University) - full credit given to you obviously.Β If the answer is 'yes, you can use this image' - do you also mind telling me 1) how long this image took to assemble 2) how long it took to render (and on what) and 3) whether this is your 'profession' - so my students would have some context to the image and how hard it is, and how long it takes to produce this kind of amazing work.

Yes, of course you can. And to answer your questions, you need to know, I created the sheet she's wearing and the pose. It's part of my current project I'm working on - 15 womanly artistic poses with 15 different sheets for 4 different Genesis 3 Female figures (Aiko 7/Girl7/Olympia7 and Victoria 7). Each pose has it's own sheet with 9 different draping options for the sheet - with gravity, with wind force or without gravity. The image itself didn't take too long to assemble, probably half an hour, because time that is usually used to find a figure, pose and clothing is saved, I only had to find the right drape for the sheet, the texture for the sheet, the hair and the hair color and pose, I worked on her skin settings and had to find a believable expression in her face, the environment/positioning and the lighting. Because of the Depth Of Field camera the render took a bit longer, the blurred areas always take a bit longer to bake smoothly, but the "simple" lighting (Iray's default sun) made this relative again and image was finished after 4 hours in that actual size (2000x2600) with 5 minutes postwork in Photoshop to enhance the colors a bit and to add the logo. I have a Win 10 Pro 64 bit PC with I7 4x 3.5 GHz processor, 32 GB RAM and an NVidia Titan X gaphics card (which did the good and fast rendering job! )Β
And it is not my job to produce such images - I create 3D content for DAZ Studio and I am an Published Artist at DAZ3D - means, I earn money with selling 3D content at DAZ3D. But that doesn't necessarily mean I'm good with rendering images, although it seems it is so. Hope you know what I mean, you can sell 3D content even without rendering such images, others can do that part of work.
I love to render, to "assemble" (good word) scenes and to create images that tell a story or image stories even, because it is my passion. I have a background as a (professionally learned) Media Designer, but my interest for composition, photography, my eye for colors and shapes and the will to learn something new everyday, and the sum of experiences I made through the last 20 years with 3D (I started in the late 90s with Bryce3D abstract images), all this leads to the image above. Β
Here's a former, similar product of mine, take a look: www.daz3d.com/jepe-s-wondershe⦠and look what else I've created: www.daz3d.com/jepe
And feel always free to ask anyting you want to know about me.
