I don't like to talk about how much they cost specifically (and I don't like to THINK about how much all their stuff costs... ouch!), but they're pretty much all over the 60cm BJD price range. It's pretty much the single hobby I spend money on, though, so..

I do want to own a BJD, seriously I do but in Malaysia, a BJD can cost RM3000! same price with my notebook

I'm planning to but a BJD doll this Saturday if possible, quite small, around a Barbie doll size only and the price around RM300....not really bad la, after all I've saving the money for almost 2 years for it HaHaHa

If I buy it I'll post the photo of the doll n let u know

Aww.. yeah, a choice between a doll and a computer is tough XD;; Though the computer would probably be more useful. XD (Or a doll and a really nice camera.. yikes.. )

Ooh, what sort of doll are you looking at? :3 Do share pics if you get her, hee! And hey.. saving is the way to do it X3 Having to save for that long shows the people who really seriously want one, I think ;D

Sure no prob I think last time I remember it said J-Doll but it is BJD

HoHoHo About Camera n computer, if it got to with my studies my father buy em' for me therefore I always save my money for the dolls or other anime/manga stuffs

Hehe, nah, the braided wig came braided (I just did the loops), and the hairpiece came with the "ribbons" of hair already set (with glue it would seem oO). And thank goodness, I'd hate to have to do that

Yeah! Making costumes for dolls is so much more gratifying because it's so much quicker, yet they're still big enough that you can put a lot of detail into it :3

I'm using two desk lamps with 40-watt lightbulbs XD; I keep them on either side and above the scene, and generally point the lamp heads (they're on flexi-necks) upwards so they're not aimed directly at the dolls.

I could probably use some reflectors to fill in dark areas and maybe cut down some of the glare, but I need to research that. XD; If I find a good FAQ, I must remember to post it here or something

Thank you so much! I'm in the process of re-making my sewing room, so I'm being much more consicous of the lighting in there... I have a couple of those flex neck hallogen desk lamp thingies from Target - I think I need to play around with them a little bit. Reflectors are something I just never thought of either... thank you!

Funfun! Good luck with the "remodeling" Hmm, are the desk lamps those superbrightwhite halogens? I had one of those and had to give up on it, it was TOO bright, but there are ways to put masks in front of lights to dim them down a little.. or maybe just don't use them as close to your subjects as I am XD;;

Thank you! I just bought a couple of those lights, and if you put them a little farther away, they work really well! I just haven't taken pictures of any dolls/outfits that I wanna post, but they came out pretty darn good~

Now I just need to get them chairs and the such So expensive, my little doll obsession *sigh*

Yeah... definitely not an easy hobby on the wallet. XD; If you have something around like a Ross store, sometimes they sell Kingstate doll furniture for $20 or less... I think some craft stores carry them too (but none around here, boo )
