where I grew up in bavaria......ladies and gentlemen would hang out their window and watch people walk by and even chat and when there were no people there would be their blankets and such hanging outΒ to air

never thought of that......I think most of the old ladies were taking a break from cleaning.....
there was this older lady that did that all the time I was living in the complex and when I went back to visit 5 years later she actually was out of the house sitting under a tree in the front steps to the house......
