Today is the birthday of Marin from Pop’n Music! Check out the outfit I designed for this peppy percussionist!
Marin pays the marimba. That’s how she got her name. Although she’s happy to hit anything and everything playfully with her mallets! I hope the xylophone/marimba motif of this drawing shines through well.

Since Marin’s name is more reminiscent of marine, the ocean, etc. for me as an English speaker, I combined marimba and oceanic motifs for this illustration. Well, Marin does hail from Okinawa, one of Japan’s smallest islands which is similar to Hawaii in some ways. A lot of the culture there ties to the ocean So she grew up surrounded by ocean and is, in fact, a marine girl. It’s perfect.
