Gender: M
Race: Half-Veela Wizard

Personality:
COWARDLY || LITERAL || NERVOUS || OVERLY APOLOGETIC || HONEST
One might think he's a genius until they realize that despite all of his brain's proficiency in assessing and analyzing all the universe's secrets-- he can't even seem to understand a simple knock knock joke. (Perhaps it's futile to joke with the man who possesses insider information on the secret agenda of chickens with places to go...)
Backstory: (This is cannibalized from an older app cuz i'm lazy)
Tales of good Veelas exist in the world, surely, but as far as Izel is concerned, his mother is one of the wretched heartless seductresses that makes up the species.
And he hates that he resembles her, and hates that half of her kind's blood runs through his veins.
Reuel Valliea fell in love with a very beautiful women, and that was his first mistake.
He met her by chance while she was sight-seeing in Britian, and no one had ever captivated and entranced him as much as she did. His love was spontaneous, but devoted, and the woman, Christelle, found him endearing and amusing for his efforts to woo her, and fresh in all his naivete. As time went on, through letters and frequent corresponding, she too found herself fond of the man.
And that was the second and more fatal mistake of Reuel Valliea, making her fall in love with him.
Eventually, she moved from Denmark to Britain for Reuel, and then after that with time came marriage and a son.
But the novelty of Reuel's love was gradually wearing off for Christelle, and despite his constant devotion she came to despise how her life was becoming so normal and uninteresting. What's more she came to hate how the man who would previously bend backwards for her and die had someone he now adored even more than her: their son. It shouldn't have been possible. She went on for several years growing more unhappy and gradually coming to despise her husband for not becoming unhappy with life as she had. Eventually, she decided the only thing to do was to leave him. But if she had suffered through years of unhappiness, she only thought it fair for him to have to go through the same.
Divorce may make him unhappy, yes, but she knew the only way to make him truly miserable was if he somehow lost not only his wife, but his son as well.
She was right.
Gaining custody was simple enough, as soon as a male judge was assigned to the hearing, the trial was already lost for Reuel.
At 6 years old Izel was uprooted from his life in Britain and moved to Denmark with his mother. Christelle was finally free and Izel grew up trapped in mental and emotional mind games with his mother, who convinced him of all the awful things that would happen to his father if he spent time with him. Now older, Izel realizes the manipulative falsehoods for what they are, but as a child he was terrified, and he had no one but his mother to look to for support and protection.
Izel grew up to be nervous and uneasy from a young age due to his mother's constant unstable temperament. He craved love and affection, but he also feared it greatly after seeing the way his mother would seduce men and then throw them away like it was nothing. From his personality to his looks to the very magic running through his veins, he came to despise and reject every similarity between him and his mother.
So when he ended up attending a school for magic, he was met with difficulties. He had stifled his magical ability until his first year at Hogwarts, and as a result had extremely poor results when it came to casting spells. Unlike most of the students, he was not eager to embrace his natural magical ability, and despite scoring excellently on tests and written exams, when it came to performing magic as opposed to understanding its theory, he always ended up as one of the weaker students in the school. This trend never dissipated, even now, far past graduation and into a career with some notable level of respect and authority, he continues to leave the wand waving to his coworkers who are far more suited to it and keeps himself occupied with everything else that's left over. Fortunately, where his work is concerned, the 'everything else' left is quite the momentous undertaking, so there's more than enough for him to concern himself with.
Misc:
-Would love to know what his patronus is, unfortunately he's never been successful in summoning one.
-Has two cats and a... roommate, all which he is fond of.
