question: how many hours on average does it take you to create a piece?
question 2: If you don't mind, how do you stay motivated, confident, and consistent? I've been struggling very hard with these things....I've heard people say that its worse for beginners like me, but I like hearing from experts on how they manage it.

For drawing like with a complex background, maybe 6-8hrs total (I take a lot of breaks though)?
When it comes to motivation, I simply want to keep drawing for as long as I have the ability. The beginning does seem tough at first, mainly because you're establishing routine, but it can definitely get better over time. You've just gotta keep in mind you won't be able to improve on everything you want overnight and sometimes it takes making small adjustments with each new piece over a span of years. But most importantly, make sure whatever you're sinking several hours of your day into is something you're having fun doing!

I'm still having problems staying motivated and having fun.... I just constantly see my problems and the pressure of my deadlines, and it just makes me feel awful.... But, I am trying to push through it, I think.

No worries and I understand the frustration. Maybe drawing something simple you like or reducing whatever deadlines you've set for each pic might help with motivation. Seeing problem/mistakes is also a good thing (because you know what areas to get better at) but try not to hang onto them in a negative way.
