I really love this. Guile looks like he'd rather be somewhere else lol
So uh, which movie?

Hi man, glad you like!
Not photobashed, I'm not proficient enough in photoshop to do that ย I thought it was pretty obvious it's actually just one photo I painted the characters upon. It's a fun exercise trying to make the characters match the pre-existing lighting.
This was at first triggered as a "quick" sketch for the WSG over on PJ. I initially only painted Guile, and then felt the need to add some kind of storytelling. I had an idea of the scene I wanted to portray, so I looked up a bar in google, and used it as a quick background. I then manipulated it, adjusted Guile ( ie repainted some parts) so he fitted the lighting of the scene, and then I painted in the rest of the crew. I've started doing that a little as an exercise: trying to integrate new elements in existing photos. This can be done in a stylized or realistic way (like a matte painting), in all cases it makes one understand a lot about lighting. For instance, there's a french guy called Didier Cassegrain who does these great images of cartoony women inside mundane photos, it's really cool.
