Description
The Dreaming King and the Whispering Worm are two beings irrevocably bound to one another in spite and servitude. For even if the Worm can weaponize the body of his host however he sees fit, he is forever bound to the Dreamer lest he die a slow, agonizing death in our waking world.
The story of King Agranon is one that is as sad as it is repulsive. It is the tale of a man who sought knowledge that would preserve his rule for a thousand, thousand years. And in his research into the immortal nature of the soul and the realm of spiritual beings that aid our dreams, he began to hear the whispers of something. A being with a voice both kind and cunning.
This lead him to the land of an ancient Udenian tribe known as Yumera, a place hidden by powerful magics now revealed to a king whose eyes had been opened by the whispering voice’s guidance.
And so he and his team dug relentlessly into the earth until the king, his tools broken and the flesh of his hands worn down to bone moved through sheer force of will, discovered a beautiful book bound in some unknown leather. Strangely slick to the touch, but not unpleasant.
The ancient diagrams within opened his mind to… new possibilities, and he eagerly listened. And unbeknownst to his subjects, the king had allowed into his mind a monster that would be the utter ruination of their home, even as he brought his miraculous medicine with him.
I love giant monsters, and I just couldn't help but get this one done after binge playing a *lot* of Dark Souls 3 at the time of its creation a year or so ago, so I just had to get to draw this!
This, sadly, is not a part of Storm Path as I see it, but he was made for the world of Storm Path, and so he will go into that folder. c:
