30. Abomination: Real Name Emil Blonsky First Appearance: Tales to astaonish#90 (Apr.1967) Kicking off our list is the only Hulk villain to appear in this list, a super monster solder who's created, for all intents and purposes, as the evil version of the Hulk. Emil Blonsky might have begun as a Cold War era Russian spy, but after he was exposed to Gamma Rays, he became the same kind of huge, green, impossibly strong creature as the Hulk, giving the Hulk his first true equal in battle. More so, Blonsky had a couple of notable apparent advantages the Hulk didn't have, including keeping his own intelligence and personality while transformed, and a "normal" strength level that was even greater than the Hulk. Still, thanks to the old "madder the Hulk gets, the stronger the Hulk gets" rule, Abomination was on the losing side of most fights. But in recent years, his approach became more psychological and cunning. In one of the more direct and scarring attacks a comic book arch enemy has achieved in comics, Abomination killed Bruce Banner's wife, Betty - and framed Bruce in the process. While Bruce's innocence would eventually be revealed, Abomination's actions would have longtime repercussions.

29. Lady Deathstrike: Real Name Yuriko Oyama, First Appearance (As Yuriko) Daredevil #197 (1983), (as Lady Deathstrike) Alpha Flight #33 (1985), Next up is this Wolverine villainess in need of a serious manicure. While Yuriko Oyama could have just been a one-off character, having been introduced in an issue of Daredevil and seemingly forgotten afterward. But Instead, She went on to become one of the most formidable threats the X-Men and Wolverine would face. The daughter of the man who invented the process of bonding adamantium to human bones, Lady Deathstrike targeted Wolverine, perceiving him as someone who had stolen her father's work and must pay for his actions. After her first defeat, she willingly allowed her body to be horribly transformed, becoming a powerful cyborg in the process, and gaining her own adamantium-laced skeleton and claws to battle Wolverine with. Lady Deathstrike's loyalties have shifted through the years, as she's worked with groups like the Reavers, the Sisterhood of Mutants and even a brief stint with the Thunderbolts during the superhuman Civil War - along with hooking up with Reverend William Stryker in a romantic pairing of the twisted. The kind of enemy who has the will and ability to slice your legs off in battle (as poor Sunfire learned), Deathstrike continues to plague the X-Men and their allies time and again.

28. Carnage: Real Name Cleatus Kassidy First Appearance: Amazing Spider-Man #344 1991 Imagine if the Venom symbitoe bonded to the Joker the result would be the monster called Carnage. An alien symbiote spawned from Spidey’s other doppelganger Venom, this creature made its host out of psychotic serial killer Cletus Kasady. A natural born mass murder who without the Symbiote pushed his grandmother down the stairs, tortured his dog and burnt down his orphanage.The Carnage symbiote ends up making him stronger than Spider-Man and Venom combined. He can shape-shift, create weapons like knives and axes with its web substance and plant ideas in people's heads. He can crawl like Spider-Man, regenerate and is immune to infection and disease. This comes in handy since Kasady, without the symbiote, has a form of cancer. He feeds on his victims by just touching them and can see from any part of his body. He’s so powerful Spidey has been forced to do the unthinkable and work with Venom to take him down. Carnage even has a psychological streak, believing that everybody wants to kill, he just has the guts to do it. He doesn't want money or power, he just likes killing.

27. Super Skrull Real Name Kl'rt First appearance Fantastic Four #18 (Sep,1963) The Skrull empire spans entire galaxies, encompasses countless worlds, and yet, they are obsessed with conquering Earth. And at the head of this empire, bent on seizing what their religious texts identify as their destined homeworld is Kl'rt, the Super Skrull. Created by the Skrull Emperor to challenge the Fantastic Four, he is blessed with all of their powers, along with the natural shapeshifting power of the Skrulls, and his own gift of hypnosis. While other Super Skrulls have been created, notably in the Skrulls' attempted Secret Invasion of Earth, Kl'rt is still the champion of the Skrull empire.

26. The Lizard: Real Name Dr. Curt Conner, First Appearance Amazing Spider-Man #6 Next up at 26 is Dr. Curt Connors, the chemist who experimented with lizard DNA to regrow his lost appendage. Instead, the side effects made him a monstrous reptilian beast able to control fellow cold-blooded creatures. As Lizard, Dr. Connors has superhuman strength, speed and agility. He can scale walls, regenerate limbs and whip his tail at high speeds but The Lizard can also mentally command all reptiles within a one-mile radius. What makes Lizard so hard to deal with is the man inside the monster. Peter Parker continually uses his own scientific prowess to change him back into his friend Curt Connors. But with stress or chemical reactions, he always seems to go back into remission. Even though he shows no love for humans, you can also still tell that Dr. Connors is inside there somewhere, as he never seems to harm his wife Martha or their son Billy. Aww. As Connors, he's sacrificed turning back into Lizard to help Spider-Man many a time. He's saved Aunt May's life, developing a formula to dissolve the Rhino's costume and etc. all to later become the Lizard again since he had to deal with chemicals. He also let Parker be his teaching assistant at Empire State University for a time, and you know how unreliable Parker can be.

25. Obadiah Stane Real Name, None but other alias is Iron Mongor First Appearance Iron Man # 163 donns the Iron Mongor armor in Iron Man #200 (November 1985)Though there have been a few Iron Mongers over the years, the first and most effective was Obadiah Stane, an enemy of Tony Stark as well as Iron Man. Stane ran Stane International, a corporate rival to Stark International, and used his analytical mind to manipulate Tony, eventually seizing control over Stark International and absorbing it into his own brand.Now in control of Stark's company and technology, Stane built the Iron Monger armor and attempted to use it as a tool for world domination until Stark, in a newly built Iron Man armor, confronted and defeated him. Refusing to be beaten, Stane committed suicide with the Iron Monger armor's on-board weaponry.

24. The Sentinels: Real Name: None (First Appearance X-Men # 14 Nov. 1967) The X-Men have faced a lot of enemies who fear them simply for being different, but most of these foes have some sort of humanity that can be appealed to or reasoned with. Not so for the Sentinels. Giant, powerful robots, the Sentinels are perhaps the most frightening symbol of hatred against Mutants - machines created by Dr. Bolivar Trask to hunt down and destroy anyone born different. However even though their created to as weapons in the war for earth dominance. the Sentinels decided that the best way to protect humanity was to rule over it and that inclination was taken to its limit in the classic "Days of Future Past" story. There, we saw a future where the Sentinels are essentially the masters of humans and the scourge of Mutants, keeping them locked up in internment camps or simply murdering them outright. Who can forget the visual of a Sentinel disintegrating Wolverine himself? Single minded unfeeling and merciless the Sentinels are highly symbolic of the fear and hate Mutants must face.

23. Ultron: Real Name: Ultron First Appearance: Avengers# 55 (Aug. 1968) Before the Borg tried to assimilate the Star Trek universe or Daleks tried to Exterminate Doctor Who. Marvel’s apocalyptic android was determined to wipe out all biological life on earth so machines can rule just like Skynet. From creating two girlfriends one using the Wasp’s Brain patterns and the other using Mockingbird's to attempting to robotize half the planet including Hawkeye Tigra and Quicksilver to even wiping out a county and turning the corpses of the residents who lived there into a cyberneticly enhanced army of the undead Ultron remains a pepsinate threat to The Avengers and we had Hank Pym to blame

22. Onslaught Real Name Professor X, Magneto, First Appearance: X-men vol. 2, #53 (June 1996) What’s more evil than Magneto and Apocalypse put together is a creature who is Magneto and Professor X Psyches Merged into one. It took the combine might of the X-men, The Avengers, The Fantastic Four (he kidnapped Reed Richards’ Son) and the Hulk to stop him thus setting the stage for That Crappy Heroes Reborn Universe.

21 Taskmaster: Real Name Tony Masters First Appearance: Avengers #195 (1980) Though he's rarely caused as much trouble on his own as some of the other villains on this list, the man known only as the Taskmaster may be the greatest threat to the Avengers, and possibly the world, by virtue of one simple fact: all those Hydra agents, AIM troopers, Hellfire Club enforcers, and other cannon-fodder type baddies that the Avengers have to wade through month in and month out? All of them graduated from the Taskmaster academy for henchmen. Blessed with what he calls photographic reflexes, the Taskmaster is able to replicate, at will, the movement, fighting style, and combat traits of any person whom he has substantially studied. He's parlayed this into a career not only as a top assassin, but as the go-to guy for assembling and training an army of goons, henchmen and soldiers. Though he's occasionally strayed close to good guy territory, he's always returned to villainy. The fact of the matter is, Taskmaster follows the money, and heroism doesn't usually include a 401K. Adding to his mercenary disposition is the fact that his photographic reflexes cause him to lose his more personal memories, and an arsenal that rivals the entirety of the Avengers, and you've got a formidable villain with no morals and very little to lose.

20. William Stryker Real Name: none First Appearance God loves man kills Few villains are scarier than those who truly believe they are doing God's work. Such is the case with William Stryker, a televangelist who uses his position of influence to turn as many as he can against Mutants, a species he believes is an abomination that should be wiped off the face of the Earth. Originally appearing in the graphic novel "God loves, Man Kills" However the storyline was so powerful it directly influenced the excellent X2: X-Men United. The film took the general framework from that graphic novel - in which Stryker kidnaps Professor X and attempts to use him to unwittingly help set off a machine that can kill all mutants on Earth. The film revised Stryker to be a corrupt United States Army General. Thanks to X2's hype and success, Stryker has played a major part in modern X-Men comics, where he's proved to be just as dedicated to his cause as ever, targeting every last mutant on Earth as his "holy crusade" continues.

19. Mr. Sinister: Real Name, Nathanal Essex First Appearance: Uncanny X-men #221 (Sep. 1987) Once upon a time he was a 19th century scientist named Nathaniel Essex, who had no quibbles experimenting on the homeless and those he saw as societies (and humanities) refuse. Then came Apocalypse who transformed Dr. Essex into a near immortal super powered menace called Mr. Sinister is, who is obsessed with the Darwinian idea of survival of the fittest - but this genetic manipulator goes to some extremely dark and cruel places to further his beliefs and experiments, sometimes outdoing Apocalypse himself when it comes to truly evil acts.
Infamous now lived decades past what should have been the end of his life, continuing to manipulate and destroy mutants and humans as he sees fit. Infamous for masterminding the infamous Mutant Massacre, Cloning Jean Grey, and cheating death so many times, this is a twisted individual you don't want to turn your back on.

18. Fin Fang Foom Real Name Fin Fang Foom First appearance: Strange Tales #89 (Oct 1961) You never expect any of Marvel's villians to be a Kaiju? Well, that the case for Fin Fang Foom. This Alien Dragon came to earth from his alien world of Kakaranathara, aka Maklu IV in the Maklu system of the Greater Magellanic Cloud, whatever that means, to conquer planets with the help of other members of his race. Some people would argue that hatred is the worst characteristic of the human race, but others swear that it's laziness or apathy. Fin Fang Foom though, has it all wrapped in one. With the help of a mystical herb, Foom can go into hibernation quicker than he can destroy a small village, which is pretty fast, actually. But don't let his idle exterior fool you; he can be evil too. In one particular story after his body was destroyed, his spirit flew into a statue to reside. Through his power of telepathy, he then willed a small child into bonding with thousands of lizards in a New York sewer to create a new body for him. It's what fairytales are made out of. Not only is he telepathic but also super strong can fly and regenerate as access to advanced alien technology. Oh, and he can project an acidic mist from his mouth. He also can cook a mean General Tso's Chicken since after becoming a follower of Buddhism, he took up a job as head chef at a Chinese restaurant in the Baxter Building.

17. Dark Phoneix Real Name: Jean Grey, First Appearance: X-Men #1 (1963) The X-men’s Jean Grey was reborn as the Phoenix But it an uncontrollable force of power to get her to reach cosmic evil. As The Dark Phoenix Jean, clobbered to X-men and devoured a star thus killing billions, and yet only entity who could stop her from destroying the universe was herself. Despite having limited exposure when compared to many of the other villains That I mentionedt, the Dark Phoenix is still one of the most accomplished and legendary. To this day, the Phoenix Saga is regarded as one of the best X-Men stories ever created. That accomplishment alone was a huge factor in the rankings.

16. Mystique: Real Name: Raven Darkholme First Appearance: Ms. Marvel No.16 (May 1978)Not every great villain has to be a world-conquering, war-mongering, super-powered bad ass. Some of them are simply great at manipulating events to their liking, bending the world to their desire and getting away with it. Mystique is one of those villains, and is absolutely one of the greatest female villains ever created. Raven Darkholme's history is a bit convoluted, particularly as she relates to the complex X-Men history, but that's not necessarily what makes her important. The key points would be these - she is the mother of Sabretooth's son, the mother of Nightcrawler and a foster mom for Rogue. Her history with these various characters has given her a prominent seat in the future of the mutant race, and she even played a critical role (despite being revealed as a traitor) in the 2006 storyline Messiah Complex, which kicked off a major new era in the history of the X-Men franchise. Over the years X-fans have been treated to a kick ass femme fatale who has found herself at several key turning points in the history of the mutant race. Oh, and you have to love her design, both in film and print. 'Nuff Said.

15. Sabretooth Real Name: Victor Creed, First Appearance: Iron Fist #14 (Aug. 1977) Wolverine is one of the most fierce and unstoppable heroes in comic book history - which is why you know it's saying something that Sabretooth can go toe to toe with him, as he has so many times before. A murderous 7 foot monster who sees himself as a predator and the rest of humanity prey for him to hunt, attack, fight, and kill. It’s hard to look at him without becoming a bloody mess, he’s walking crime spree.

14. Bullseye Real Name: Unknown First Appearance Daredevil (Mar. 1976) Trust me you don’t want to win a game of gin with this guy.Able to use anything in his arms reach to execute lethal intent, the merciless and mentally unstable super villain and assassin Bullseye can’t be trusted with house hold objects even a gun I might as well make funeral arrangements for the other guy.

13. The Red Skull Real Name Johann Schmidt First Appearance: Captain America Comics #1 (Mar. 1941) It’s easy to hate Nazis but The Red Skull makes hating Nazis more fun. He’s plotted the death of America’s greatest hero rocked the economy, infiltrated S.H.I.E.L.D and that’s not all His biggest ambition was to destroy the U.S of A The Skull might seem a cliché figure now, but he was one of the original uses of villainous Nazis in comic books. Combine that with his successful track record and great design and you have one legendary character.

12. The Mandarin Real Name: Unreaveled, First Appearance: Tales of Suspense #50 (Feb. 1964) With the blood of Conquerors running through his veins. This Ten ringed Tyrant Sought world Domination through the use of his genius and cunning. Due in part to his love for technology, The Mandarin had an axe to grind with Tony Stark. He tried to discredit him numerous times, almost discovered Iron Man's identity and tried to kill his girlfriend Janice Cord. The Mandarin has also tried to control the Hulk, even allying himself with Sandman to do so. He's infiltrated the U.S. government and almost released a spray into the air stream that would have had a 97.5% fatality rate. His powers include a highly advanced teleportation device, an elevated skill set of martial arts and a mastery of chi. He also callused his entire body to prevent weakness if attacked. His most important tools though are his ten rings. They all have one specific duty, such as emitting intense cold, amplifying mental energies, emitting electricity, emitting infrared radiation, rearranging molecules, projecting neutrons, causing the air to become a vortex and so on and so forth. No one can wear the rings but him, unless he lets them. And if he lets you, he is definitely watching you.

11. Norman Osborn Known Aliases Green Goblin Iron Patriot First Appearance: Amazing Spider-Man #14 Jul 1964 Even before Dark Reign, the Green Goblin had been terrorizing the lives of Spider-Man and many Marvel superheroes. A millionaire with unlimited resources and the father of Peter Parker’s best friend, Osborn’s Goblin was the result of an experiment gone wrong, causing him to become insane and super strong. Not only that, but his son eventually follows in his footsteps, striking way too close to home for Peter Parker’s comfort. Topping it all off, he caused the death of Spidey’s first girlfriend, delivering one of the most shocking moments in comic history. If the madman formally known as Norman Osborn was a real person he’d be ether a serial killer or a corrupt president of the United States.

Galactus Real Name: Galen First Appearance: Fantastic Four #48 As close as a super villain can get to godlike, Galactus is one of the greatest threats the Marvel comic book universe has ever seen. Originally viewed as a villain who naturally destroys other planets in order to survive Now Galactus comes knocking as a terrifying cosmic force of devastation. Earth may have gotten lucky but the Skrull home world? Not so much.

9. Juggernaut ”Nothing stops the Juggernaut” well not really but still since Chuck Xaviar’s bully of a step brother is empowered by the Ruby Cytorrak defeating him isn’t easy, Unless you remove his helmet. Over the years the Juggernaut's history was developed to portray the villain in a more sympathetic light. He wasn't simply evil - he had a dark childhood and hated his step-brother for the advantages he perceived Xavier had. Throughout his career, Juggernaut has clashed with the X-Men, Hulk, Thor and, in some ways most notably, Spider-Man in a classic two-part arc. His motivations might be a bit simple, but it's hard to argue against the character's popularity, design and impact on the X-Men and their founder.

8. The Kingpin How the Frakk does he manages to move so fast?!?” though he started out a Spider-Man foe this human ton “half of him is fat the rest is muscle” is the biggest pain in Daredevil’s neck. Such ruthlessness brutality and cunning. Such cunning that in fact that somehow even in defeat the NYC crime lord makes you think everything is going exactly according to (his) plan.

7. Apocalypse If you thought Magneto was bad this centuries old mutant warmonger was worst. A monstrous Tyrant hailing from ancient Egypt, he is the oldest and most powerful mutant in the X-Men universe. Having used alien technology to transform and evolve, he possesses pretty much any power he wants. He fights with the belief that only the strongest should be permitted to exist, a definition that generally does not include humans or even other mutants.

Loki Real Name Loki First Appearance Journey into Mystery #85, Oct. 1962) Thanks to the Marvel Cinematic Universe where he's played to perfection by Tom Hiddleson The God of Mischief and Thor’s ever-present arch-nemesis and one of the most interesting of all the near-deities. With a bottomless bag of tricks at his disposal including the magic to create illusions, as well as a disdain for humanity Loki constantly schemes usurp Thor and take control of the Nine Realms, only become a nail worthy of receiving a bang for the mighty Mjolnir.

Dr. Octopus: Real Name Dr. Otto Octavius, First Appearance: Amazing Spider-Man #3 (July #5 1962) This super intelligent eight-limbed villain was Once a brilliant mind in atomic research, Dr. Otto Octavius’ life of scientific discovery ended when his mechanical harness invention unexpectedly bonded to his skeleton and warped his brain. As a brilliant mind and master planner, Doc Ock was responsible for recruiting other super villains into his Sinister Six, proving that even those with 8 limps can use a hand sometimes. Dr. Octopus recently cheated death by stealing Spider-Man's body and taking over his life nearly destroying Parker's heroic legacy until he was sacrificed and ended up in the future.

Venom Notable Hosts, Eddie Brock, Macdonald Gargan, Flash Thompson First Appearance Amazing Spider-Man #299 Apr. 1988) Superhero books are often about exploring alter egos, and it doesn't get much more direct in that regard for Spider-Man than when he faces Venom. Spider-Man's dark, violent and murderous counterpart, After a brief trip to space, Spider returned with a shiny black costume, that just so happened to be a evil symbiotic alien. After it’s evil influence over him was thwarted, the enraged creature found its way to disgruntled ex-journalist Eddie Brock. Sharing a mutual grudge against Spiderman and Peter parker, Brock and the suit joined to form Venom serving as an evil doppelganger that knows all of Spiderman’s weaknesses. Venom's popularity right out of the gate was huge - he was easily the most talked about new Spider-Man villain in years, which went hand in hand with the sensation caused by the evocative work of the incredibly buzzed about young artist who first drew Venom in The Amazing Spider-Man, Todd MacFarlane. The character was so popular that he suffered from over-exposure for a time, popping up so often in Spider-Man books and various mini-series that his impact was diluted. That over-exposure thankfully eventually stopped, and what remains is still one of the most notable and iconic Spider-Man villains ever.Eddie Brock has gone through many changes and identity shifts through the years, and the Venom persona has not always been his. But while Eddie himself has gone back and forth between fighting for what he perceives to be right -- the "Lethal Protector" -- and outright villainy, it's inevitable that he eventually succumbs to his dark side, and fans are treated to another Spider-Man Vs. Venom battle.

Thanos Real Name Thanos First Appearance: Iron Man #55 (Feb. 1973) At number 3 is the Infinity Gauntlet wearing mad Titan known as Thanos Born on Titan, a moon of Saturn, this member of an ancient alien race of immortal deviants is a godlike being. What makes him especially menacing is his fascination with death. That’s right, Thanos doesn’t want to rule the universe, he wants to make it completely lifeless in order to win over lady death herself. He has the power of telekinesis and matter manipulation, has superhuman intellect, can master any technology, time travel and even teleport. He also looks like a gorilla.

Magneto Real Name Erik Lenshar First Appearance: First Appearance: X-Men #1 (1963) Many villians dream of suppressing others but only Magneto has a sympathetic reasoning. he helmet-wearing Magneto is a complex and dynamic villain, who leads the brotherhood of evil mutants, regularly coming head on with the X-Men, who hope for species co-existence. A holocaust survivor who has seen the effects of prejudice and segregation first hand, the master of magnetism has been the Marvel point man for intolerance
Magneto has become bigger than his peers and virtually all of his enemies. It's the sign of a great character when his presence dominates a story and his absence creates a vacuum that cannot be filled by any other.

1. Dr. Doom: Real Name: Victor Von Doom First Appearance: Fantastic Four #5 Victor Von Doom is, above all odds, a star in his own right. With a goal of world domination, he’s managed to run into various Marvel heroes. Despite his genius level intellect and Unconquerable will Dr. Doom is so arrogant that he doesn't know the meaning of the world failure in the end it's always someone else's fault namely Reed Richard's leader of Doom's most hated enemies The Fantastic Four. Doom’s legacy trumps this momentary lapse. Considered the smartest villain in the Marvel universe and Stan Lee’s personal favorite as well as mine, his mastery of science and magic make him the poster boy for calculated evil.

The kind of enemy who has the will and ability to slice your legs off in battle (as poor Sunfire learned), Deathstrike continues to plague the X-Men and their allies time and again.

28. Carnage: Real Name Cleatus Kassidy First Appearance: Amazing Spider-Man #344 1991 Imagine if the Venom symbitoe bonded to the Joker the result would be the monster called Carnage. An alien symbiote spawned from Spidey’s other doppelganger Venom, this creature made its host out of psychotic serial killer Cletus Kasady. A natural born mass murder who without the Symbiote pushed his grandmother down the stairs, tortured his dog and burnt down his orphanage.The Carnage symbiote ends up making him stronger than Spider-Man and Venom combined. He can shape-shift, create weapons like knives and axes with its web substance and plant ideas in people's heads. He can crawl like Spider-Man, regenerate and is immune to infection and disease. This comes in handy since Kasady, without the symbiote, has a form of cancer. He feeds on his victims by just touching them and can see from any part of his body. He’s so powerful Spidey has been forced to do the unthinkable and work with Venom to take him down. Carnage even has a psychological streak, believing that everybody wants to kill, he just has the guts to do it. He doesn't want money or power, he just likes killing.

27. Super Skrull Real Name Kl'rt First appearance Fantastic Four #18 (Sep,1963) The Skrull empire spans entire galaxies, encompasses countless worlds, and yet, they are obsessed with conquering Earth. And at the head of this empire, bent on seizing what their religious texts identify as their destined homeworld is Kl'rt, the Super Skrull. Created by the Skrull Emperor to challenge the Fantastic Four, he is blessed with all of their powers, along with the natural shapeshifting power of the Skrulls, and his own gift of hypnosis. While other Super Skrulls have been created, notably in the Skrulls' attempted Secret Invasion of Earth, Kl'rt is still the champion of the Skrull empire.

26. The Lizard: Real Name Dr. Curt Conner, First Appearance Amazing Spider-Man #6 Next up at 26 is Dr. Curt Connors, the chemist who experimented with lizard DNA to regrow his lost appendage. Instead, the side effects made him a monstrous reptilian beast able to control fellow cold-blooded creatures. As Lizard, Dr. Connors has superhuman strength, speed and agility. He can scale walls, regenerate limbs and whip his tail at high speeds but The Lizard can also mentally command all reptiles within a one-mile radius. What makes Lizard so hard to deal with is the man inside the monster. Peter Parker continually uses his own scientific prowess to change him back into his friend Curt Connors. But with stress or chemical reactions, he always seems to go back into remission. Even though he shows no love for humans, you can also still tell that Dr. Connors is inside there somewhere, as he never seems to harm his wife Martha or their son Billy. Aww. As Connors, he's sacrificed turning back into Lizard to help Spider-Man many a time. He's saved Aunt May's life, developing a formula to dissolve the Rhino's costume and etc. all to later become the Lizard again since he had to deal with chemicals. He also let Parker be his teaching assistant at Empire State University for a time, and you know how unreliable Parker can be.

25. Obadiah Stane Real Name, None but other alias is Iron Mongor First Appearance Iron Man # 163 donns the Iron Mongor armor in Iron Man #200 (November 1985)Though there have been a few Iron Mongers over the years, the first and most effective was Obadiah Stane, an enemy of Tony Stark as well as Iron Man. Stane ran Stane International, a corporate rival to Stark International, and used his analytical mind to manipulate Tony, eventually seizing control over Stark International and absorbing it into his own brand.Now in control of Stark's company and technology, Stane built the Iron Monger armor and attempted to use it as a tool for world domination until Stark, in a newly built Iron Man armor, confronted and defeated him. Refusing to be beaten, Stane committed suicide with the Iron Monger armor's on-board weaponry.

24. The Sentinels: Real Name: None (First Appearance X-Men # 14 Nov. 1967) The X-Men have faced a lot of enemies who fear them simply for being different, but most of these foes have some sort of humanity that can be appealed to or reasoned with. Not so for the Sentinels. Giant, powerful robots, the Sentinels are perhaps the most frightening symbol of hatred against Mutants - machines created by Dr. Bolivar Trask to hunt down and destroy anyone born different. However even though their created to as weapons in the war for earth dominance. the Sentinels decided that the best way to protect humanity was to rule over it and that inclination was taken to its limit in the classic "Days of Future Past" story. There, we saw a future where the Sentinels are essentially the masters of humans and the scourge of Mutants, keeping them locked up in internment camps or simply murdering them outright. Who can forget the visual of a Sentinel disintegrating Wolverine himself? Single minded unfeeling and merciless the Sentinels are highly symbolic of the fear and hate Mutants must face.

23. Ultron: Real Name: Ultron First Appearance: Avengers# 55 (Aug. 1968) Before the Borg tried to assimilate the Star Trek universe or Daleks tried to Exterminate Doctor Who. Marvel’s apocalyptic android was determined to wipe out all biological life on earth so machines can rule just like Skynet. From creating two girlfriends one using the Wasp’s Brain patterns and the other using Mockingbird's to attempting to robotize half the planet including Hawkeye Tigra and Quicksilver to even wiping out a county and turning the corpses of the residents who lived there into a cyberneticly enhanced army of the undead Ultron remains a pepsinate threat to The Avengers and we had Hank Pym to blame

22. Onslaught Real Name Professor X, Magneto, First Appearance: X-men vol. 2, #53 (June 1996) What’s more evil than Magneto and Apocalypse put together is a creature who is Magneto and Professor X Psyches Merged into one. It took the combine might of the X-men, The Avengers, The Fantastic Four (he kidnapped Reed Richards’ Son) and the Hulk to stop him thus setting the stage for That Crappy Heroes Reborn Universe.

21 Taskmaster: Real Name Tony Masters First Appearance: Avengers #195 (1980) Though he's rarely caused as much trouble on his own as some of the other villains on this list, the man known only as the Taskmaster may be the greatest threat to the Avengers, and possibly the world, by virtue of one simple fact: all those Hydra agents, AIM troopers, Hellfire Club enforcers, and other cannon-fodder type baddies that the Avengers have to wade through month in and month out? All of them graduated from the Taskmaster academy for henchmen. Blessed with what he calls photographic reflexes, the Taskmaster is able to replicate, at will, the movement, fighting style, and combat traits of any person whom he has substantially studied. He's parlayed this into a career not only as a top assassin, but as the go-to guy for assembling and training an army of goons, henchmen and soldiers. Though he's occasionally strayed close to good guy territory, he's always returned to villainy. The fact of the matter is, Taskmaster follows the money, and heroism doesn't usually include a 401K. Adding to his mercenary disposition is the fact that his photographic reflexes cause him to lose his more personal memories, and an arsenal that rivals the entirety of the Avengers, and you've got a formidable villain with no morals and very little to lose.

20. William Stryker Real Name: none First Appearance God loves man kills Few villains are scarier than those who truly believe they are doing God's work. Such is the case with William Stryker, a televangelist who uses his position of influence to turn as many as he can against Mutants, a species he believes is an abomination that should be wiped off the face of the Earth. Originally appearing in the graphic novel "God loves, Man Kills" However the storyline was so powerful it directly influenced the excellent X2: X-Men United. The film took the general framework from that graphic novel - in which Stryker kidnaps Professor X and attempts to use him to unwittingly help set off a machine that can kill all mutants on Earth. The film revised Stryker to be a corrupt United States Army General. Thanks to X2's hype and success, Stryker has played a major part in modern X-Men comics, where he's proved to be just as dedicated to his cause as ever, targeting every last mutant on Earth as his "holy crusade" continues.

19. Mr. Sinister: Real Name, Nathanal Essex First Appearance: Uncanny X-men #221 (Sep. 1987) Once upon a time he was a 19th century scientist named Nathaniel Essex, who had no quibbles experimenting on the homeless and those he saw as societies (and humanities) refuse. Then came Apocalypse who transformed Dr. Essex into a near immortal super powered menace called Mr. Sinister is, who is obsessed with the Darwinian idea of survival of the fittest - but this genetic manipulator goes to some extremely dark and cruel places to further his beliefs and experiments, sometimes outdoing Apocalypse himself when it comes to truly evil acts.
Infamous now lived decades past what should have been the end of his life, continuing to manipulate and destroy mutants and humans as he sees fit. Infamous for masterminding the infamous Mutant Massacre, Cloning Jean Grey, and cheating death so many times, this is a twisted individual you don't want to turn your back on.

18. Fin Fang Foom Real Name Fin Fang Foom First appearance: Strange Tales #89 (Oct 1961) You never expect any of Marvel's villians to be a Kaiju? Well, that the case for Fin Fang Foom. This Alien Dragon came to earth from his alien world of Kakaranathara, aka Maklu IV in the Maklu system of the Greater Magellanic Cloud, whatever that means, to conquer planets with the help of other members of his race. Some people would argue that hatred is the worst characteristic of the human race, but others swear that it's laziness or apathy. Fin Fang Foom though, has it all wrapped in one. With the help of a mystical herb, Foom can go into hibernation quicker than he can destroy a small village, which is pretty fast, actually. But don't let his idle exterior fool you; he can be evil too. In one particular story after his body was destroyed, his spirit flew into a statue to reside. Through his power of telepathy, he then willed a small child into bonding with thousands of lizards in a New York sewer to create a new body for him. It's what fairytales are made out of. Not only is he telepathic but also super strong can fly and regenerate as access to advanced alien technology. Oh, and he can project an acidic mist from his mouth. He also can cook a mean General Tso's Chicken since after becoming a follower of Buddhism, he took up a job as head chef at a Chinese restaurant in the Baxter Building.

17. Dark Phoneix Real Name: Jean Grey, First Appearance: X-Men #1 (1963) The X-men’s Jean Grey was reborn as the Phoenix But it an uncontrollable force of power to get her to reach cosmic evil. As The Dark Phoenix Jean, clobbered to X-men and devoured a star thus killing billions, and yet only entity who could stop her from destroying the universe was herself. Despite having limited exposure when compared to many of the other villains That I mentionedt, the Dark Phoenix is still one of the most accomplished and legendary. To this day, the Phoenix Saga is regarded as one of the best X-Men stories ever created. That accomplishment alone was a huge factor in the rankings.

16. Mystique: Real Name: Raven Darkholme First Appearance: Ms. Marvel No.16 (May 1978)Not every great villain has to be a world-conquering, war-mongering, super-powered bad ass. Some of them are simply great at manipulating events to their liking, bending the world to their desire and getting away with it. Mystique is one of those villains, and is absolutely one of the greatest female villains ever created. Raven Darkholme's history is a bit convoluted, particularly as she relates to the complex X-Men history, but that's not necessarily what makes her important. The key points would be these - she is the mother of Sabretooth's son, the mother of Nightcrawler and a foster mom for Rogue. Her history with these various characters has given her a prominent seat in the future of the mutant race, and she even played a critical role (despite being revealed as a traitor) in the 2006 storyline Messiah Complex, which kicked off a major new era in the history of the X-Men franchise. Over the years X-fans have been treated to a kick ass femme fatale who has found herself at several key turning points in the history of the mutant race. Oh, and you have to love her design, both in film and print. 'Nuff Said.

15. Sabretooth Real Name: Victor Creed, First Appearance: Iron Fist #14 (Aug. 1977) Wolverine is one of the most fierce and unstoppable heroes in comic book history - which is why you know it's saying something that Sabretooth can go toe to toe with him, as he has so many times before. A murderous 7 foot monster who sees himself as a predator and the rest of humanity prey for him to hunt, attack, fight, and kill. It’s hard to look at him without becoming a bloody mess, he’s walking crime spree.

14. Bullseye Real Name: Unknown First Appearance Daredevil (Mar. 1976) Trust me you don’t want to win a game of gin with this guy.Able to use anything in his arms reach to execute lethal intent, the merciless and mentally unstable super villain and assassin Bullseye can’t be trusted with house hold objects even a gun I might as well make funeral arrangements for the other guy.

13. The Red Skull Real Name Johann Schmidt First Appearance: Captain America Comics #1 (Mar. 1941) It’s easy to hate Nazis but The Red Skull makes hating Nazis more fun. He’s plotted the death of America’s greatest hero rocked the economy, infiltrated S.H.I.E.L.D and that’s not all His biggest ambition was to destroy the U.S of A The Skull might seem a cliché figure now, but he was one of the original uses of villainous Nazis in comic books. Combine that with his successful track record and great design and you have one legendary character.

12. The Mandarin Real Name: Unreaveled, First Appearance: Tales of Suspense #50 (Feb. 1964) With the blood of Conquerors running through his veins. This Ten ringed Tyrant Sought world Domination through the use of his genius and cunning. Due in part to his love for technology, The Mandarin had an axe to grind with Tony Stark. He tried to discredit him numerous times, almost discovered Iron Man's identity and tried to kill his girlfriend Janice Cord. The Mandarin has also tried to control the Hulk, even allying himself with Sandman to do so. He's infiltrated the U.S. government and almost released a spray into the air stream that would have had a 97.5% fatality rate. His powers include a highly advanced teleportation device, an elevated skill set of martial arts and a mastery of chi. He also callused his entire body to prevent weakness if attacked. His most important tools though are his ten rings. They all have one specific duty, such as emitting intense cold, amplifying mental energies, emitting electricity, emitting infrared radiation, rearranging molecules, projecting neutrons, causing the air to become a vortex and so on and so forth. No one can wear the rings but him, unless he lets them. And if he lets you, he is definitely watching you.

11. Norman Osborn Known Aliases Green Goblin Iron Patriot First Appearance: Amazing Spider-Man #14 Jul 1964 Even before Dark Reign, the Green Goblin had been terrorizing the lives of Spider-Man and many Marvel superheroes. A millionaire with unlimited resources and the father of Peter Parker’s best friend, Osborn’s Goblin was the result of an experiment gone wrong, causing him to become insane and super strong. Not only that, but his son eventually follows in his footsteps, striking way too close to home for Peter Parker’s comfort. Topping it all off, he caused the death of Spidey’s first girlfriend, delivering one of the most shocking moments in comic history. If the madman formally known as Norman Osborn was a real person he’d be ether a serial killer or a corrupt president of the United States.

10. Galactus Real Name: Galen First Appearance: Fantastic Four #48 As close as a super villain can get to godlike, Galactus is one of the greatest threats the Marvel comic book universe has ever seen. Originally viewed as a villain who naturally destroys other planets in order to survive Now Galactus comes knocking as a terrifying cosmic force of devastation. Earth may have gotten lucky but the Skrull home world? Not so much.

9. Juggernaut ”Nothing stops the Juggernaut” well not really but still since Chuck Xaviar’s bully of a step brother is empowered by the Ruby Cytorrak defeating him isn’t easy, Unless you remove his helmet. Over the years the Juggernaut's history was developed to portray the villain in a more sympathetic light. He wasn't simply evil - he had a dark childhood and hated his step-brother for the advantages he perceived Xavier had. Throughout his career, Juggernaut has clashed with the X-Men, Hulk, Thor and, in some ways most notably, Spider-Man in a classic two-part arc. His motivations might be a bit simple, but it's hard to argue against the character's popularity, design and impact on the X-Men and their founder.

7. Apocalypse If you thought Magneto was bad this centuries old mutant warmonger was worst. A monstrous Tyrant hailing from ancient Egypt, he is the oldest and most powerful mutant in the X-Men universe. Having used alien technology to transform and evolve, he possesses pretty much any power he wants. He fights with the belief that only the strongest should be permitted to exist, a definition that generally does not include humans or even other mutants.

6. Loki Real Name Loki First Appearance Journey into Mystery #85, Oct. 1962) Thanks to the Marvel Cinematic Universe where he's played to perfection by Tom Hiddleson The God of Mischief and Thor’s ever-present arch-nemesis and one of the most interesting of all the near-deities. With a bottomless bag of tricks at his disposal including the magic to create illusions, as well as a disdain for humanity Loki constantly schemes usurp Thor and take control of the Nine Realms, only become a nail worthy of receiving a bang for the mighty Mjolnir.

5. Dr. Octopus: Real Name Dr. Otto Octavius, First Appearance: Amazing Spider-Man #3 (July #5 1962) This super intelligent eight-limbed villain was Once a brilliant mind in atomic research, Dr. Otto Octavius’ life of scientific discovery ended when his mechanical harness invention unexpectedly bonded to his skeleton and warped his brain. As a brilliant mind and master planner, Doc Ock was responsible for recruiting other super villains into his Sinister Six, proving that even those with 8 limps can use a hand sometimes. Dr. Octopus recently cheated death by stealing Spider-Man's body and taking over his life nearly destroying Parker's heroic legacy until he was sacrificed and ended up in the future.

4. Venom Notable Hosts, Eddie Brock, Macdonald Gargan, Flash Thompson First Appearance Amazing Spider-Man #299 Apr. 1988) Superhero books are often about exploring alter egos, and it doesn't get much more direct in that regard for Spider-Man than when he faces Venom. Spider-Man's dark, violent and murderous counterpart, After a brief trip to space, Spider returned with a shiny black costume, that just so happened to be a evil symbiotic alien. After it’s evil influence over him was thwarted, the enraged creature found its way to disgruntled ex-journalist Eddie Brock. Sharing a mutual grudge against Spiderman and Peter parker, Brock and the suit joined to form Venom serving as an evil doppelganger that knows all of Spiderman’s weaknesses. Venom's popularity right out of the gate was huge - he was easily the most talked about new Spider-Man villain in years, which went hand in hand with the sensation caused by the evocative work of the incredibly buzzed about young artist who first drew Venom in The Amazing Spider-Man, Todd MacFarlane. The character was so popular that he suffered from over-exposure for a time, popping up so often in Spider-Man books and various mini-series that his impact was diluted. That over-exposure thankfully eventually stopped, and what remains is still one of the most notable and iconic Spider-Man villains ever.Eddie Brock has gone through many changes and identity shifts through the years, and the Venom persona has not always been his. But while Eddie himself has gone back and forth between fighting for what he perceives to be right -- the "Lethal Protector" -- and outright villainy, it's inevitable that he eventually succumbs to his dark side, and fans are treated to another Spider-Man Vs. Venom battle.

Thanos Real Name Thanos First Appearance: Iron Man #55 (Feb. 1973) At number 3 is the Infinity Gauntlet wearing mad Titan known as Thanos Born on Titan, a moon of Saturn, this member of an ancient alien race of immortal deviants is a godlike being. What makes him especially menacing is his fascination with death. That’s right, Thanos doesn’t want to rule the universe, he wants to make it completely lifeless in order to win over lady death herself. He has the power of telekinesis and matter manipulation, has superhuman intellect, can master any technology, time travel and even teleport. He also looks like a gorilla.

2. Magneto Real Name Erik Lenshar First Appearance: First Appearance: X-Men #1 (1963) Many villians dream of suppressing others but only Magneto has a sympathetic reasoning. he helmet-wearing Magneto is a complex and dynamic villain, who leads the brotherhood of evil mutants, regularly coming head on with the X-Men, who hope for species co-existence. A holocaust survivor who has seen the effects of prejudice and segregation first hand, the master of magnetism has been the Marvel point man for intolerance
Magneto has become bigger than his peers and virtually all of his enemies. It's the sign of a great character when his presence dominates a story and his absence creates a vacuum that cannot be filled by any other.

1. Dr. Doom: Real Name: Victor Von Doom First Appearance: Fantastic Four #5 Victor Von Doom is, above all odds, a star in his own right. With a goal of world domination, he’s managed to run into various Marvel heroes. Despite his genius level intellect and Unconquerable will Dr. Doom is so arrogant that he doesn't know the meaning of the world failure in the end it's always someone else's fault namely Reed Richard's leader of Doom's most hated enemies The Fantastic Four. Doom’s legacy trumps this momentary lapse. Considered the smartest villain in the Marvel universe and Stan Lee’s personal favorite as well as mine, his mastery of science and magic make him the poster boy for calculated evil.
