Description I made this for myself from the pattern in the book Amigurumi Knits by Hansi Singh.

I've always been fascinated by my family's heritage, which does include a little bit of Scottish, plus my husband's family is a fairly even mix of Irish and Scottish, so I thought it was only fitting to have a little Nessie of our own.

Probably the easiest way to reach me is via email, which is jedimeg 16 @ gmail . com (without the spaces of course).

He's so precious! I love these dinosaur amigurumi. I know I'm missing out on a lot of the knit versions but I just can't seem to teach myself knitting. I really love the way finished Knit amigurumi look too. They also seem to look a lot softer since the gauge must be closer than in crochet, no gaps! You also get that wonderful chain weave.

Thank you! Knitting amigurumi toys is definitely different than crocheting them, but each has their advantages. I don't know if the gauge is actually closer or not. When I knit amigurumis I always use size 6 needles.

Thank you! Maybe I'll have to get a picture of my 7 1/2 month old son hugging it. That is if he doesn't try to eat Nessie's face...

Thank you! The pattern is really well written, but sometimes you have to stare at it and read ahead to make sense of exactly what the designer means.

I tried a variation where I worked the tail in the round instead of flat as written, and it ended up being more work than it needed to be.

I know exactly what you mean. In my opinion, the entire book is very well written. I love the fact that they have descriptions of the different stitches, as well as step by step instructions.

Well, at least you know what to do next time if you make another nessie!
