Roronoa Zoro from One PieceScreenshot used as reference because I need more practice drawing One Piece characters before I can get their 'essential features' down. heh

Yay! Zoro! I've just started watching One Piece, and already he's my favorite character. You nailed down his eyebrows and his long nose.
Umm...could someone clue me in as to why the show calls him Zolo? Everyone else seems to call him Zoro...

I think I only managed to get his features because I was using a reference. I need to practice lots more to really get it into my head.
Does the show really call him "Zolo?" The subs I follow read as "Zoro"... I've seen a lot of people in dA and elsewhere call him "Zolo," though... Never understood why. haha

On Cartoon Network, he's called Zolo. I think it has something to do with the fact that Japanese doesn't have an "r" sound...or maybe it's an "l" sound

Yes, they call him Zolo. So do most of the books and ShonenJump. Yet, when I asked them, they said that his real name was in fact Zoro, but because of some weirdo crap, they had to use Zolo..*shudder* God I hate that name...
