)Materials and Methods
Nikon D80 + 50mm F1.8 + IR remote. I got these really cute Mandarin oranges that had their leaves on them from the local Asian market. They're so cute you just want to smoosh them against your face
Drew a little face on with ink pen. GIMP for post editing. Multiplied semi-transparent yellow layer. Tonal curve editing to brighten the image. A LOT of noise reduction due to the high ISO 800. Additional Comments

Well, I can speak Mandarin too but I tend to say Chinese just to avoid all those jokes because they are getting a bit dull. ^^^

I'm not sure what your friend means by "modern" and "older one". In terms of writing Chinese, there's Traditional and Simplified. In terms of speaking Mandarin, there's the traditional/standard "Beijing dialect" and then the one essentially everyone else uses
