The pose and mood are great. I like the eyes, spines and swirls of the spirit eater too. Is this in ballpoint pen? The shading on the spirit eater creates a really nice... gooey look to it, as if it's a writhing mass of some kind of black swirling substance.

I agree. Though complete works are wonderful too, there's just a certain quality that a sketch has which often gets lost in full colouring or refining. That, and I know I find sketches take a lot less time to create (and don't require a computer).

Very evocative, I like the contrast between the huge spirit hunger and Aneele. The idea of adding that strong wind is good too.
