Love! I find this amusing. I'm a redhead with glasses and I'm making my next cosplay, and it's Ash lol

I dunno, fighting them with a giant spork like she is in the background would probably do it too. ^^

XD The only part of the movie I ever saw was when he was giving the speech about his boomstick. You should quote it.

Ash: Alright you Primitive Screwheads, listen up! You see this? This... is my boomstick! The twelve-gauge double-barreled Remington. S-Mart's top of the line. You can find this in the sporting goods department. That's right, this sweet baby was made in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Retails for about a hundred and nine, ninety five. It's got a walnut stock, cobalt blue steel, and a hair trigger. That's right. Shop smart. Shop S-Mart. You got that?

didn't you live through the 90's, Jess? why do you need to study it?

I lived through the decade, but I ignored just about every major cultural event that happened, even most of the ones that were aimed at kids. I was a very obsessive child, but I chose to obsess over only one thing at a time, so starting around 1992 I was an exclusive Nickelodeon nut, then in 1995 I started reading Goosebumps books and I couldn't get off of that, until PokΓ©mon came along in 1998 and then I went ga-ga over that, and so on.
Most of my '90s research is for "Maxwell Silver Hammer". I have to teach myself all about the stuff I didn't pay attention to the first time if I want to portray the decade accurately.

I'm pretty sure Pokemon came around in 96'...*checks numbers* Yup. 96. Gold and silver came right around the turn of the millennium too!

The video games came out in Japan in 1996. They didn't hit America until 1998. (I remember the advertisement for Red and Blue, with the big net swooping down on a completely random group of PokΓ©mon, being on the back cover of the September 1998 issue of Disney Adventures - my first exposure to the franchise!)

wow. that sounds like how i was. i mostly payed attention to the movies that were released. believe it or not, i was a movie buff even as early as four years old. i saw "Godzilla vs. The Smog Monster" when i was that age. and yeah, i was real big into Nickelodeon, Loony Toons, Pokemon, just about everything there was. i still love Disney cartoons, even today.
BTW, i think my brother went to see Army of Darkness in the theaters way back in 1993. i think he might have been four when it was released. i remember him describing the part where Ash slices Evil Ash in half with a chainsaw. i was pretty grossed out. little did i know what an awesome movie i would actually come to think it was.

The movie was rad, and the homage to it in this picture is rad. I especially like that you added the mini-ash in the form of Mini-Monica with a spork (it looks like it to me).
The quotes from that movie are immortal, at least for me when Army of Darkness used to play on Sci-Fi instead of those horrible sci-fi studios films they make.

Smooth away! You know I'm always up for more Monica!
I haven't seen the movie, but I researched it before I drew this, so I was able to get some of the tinier details, like the mini-Monica poking at her foot (I made the fork a spork 'cause I just thought it'd be funnier).
